Raab-Group
Since 1997, the Joseph Raab GmbH & Cie. KG and the Kutzner + Weber GmbH have been part of the Raab Group which originated in Neuwied on the Rhine in 1898. As a manufacturer of high-quality flue gas systems and flue gas components that are also used for other purposes, the brands Raab and Kutzner + Weber offer innovative system solutions for flue gas and ventilation technology. The range of services includes qualified advise and support for planning on-site, free planning software for dimensioning as well as libraries for 2D and 3D planning and designing systems in cooperation with certified partner companies.
Kutzner + Weber
Kutzner + Weber develops, produces and sells components of flue gas technology that help to reduce polluting emissions like CO2, dust, fine dust and noise as well as energy losses.
The thermally controlled “Diemayer damper“ for gas fireplaces prevents warm air from escaping from the room. Secondary-air appliances work without additional energy to ensure a consistent pressure in the flue gas path and increase the efficiency of heat generators. Chimney fans are used if low chimney draught causes incomplete combustion. Kutzner + Weber has developed a sensor-controlled stove regulator and a particle separator to reduce fine dust emission in manually-charged solid fuel fireplaces. In order to counter the increasing noise problems, flue gas silencers are produced both serially and custom-made. Furthermore, a sound metering app is available that allows to conduct approximate sound surveys fast and easily as a guideline.
Raab
The core business of Raab is the production and development of high-quality chimney and flue gas systems made of stainless steel. Raab products allow you to realize almost all installation situations in new and old buildings. One example for this is the ALKON series as double-walled or single-walled stainless-steel flue gas systems or chimneys for inside or outside installation. The metallic-tight sealing principle of the element connections allows for a max. operation temperature of 600 °C and a positive-pressure of max. 5000 Pa. Due to these characteristics, it is possible to connect fireplaces for gas, oil and solid fuels as well as stationary CI engines and heat pumps. They ensure a high flexibility for future retrofitting of other heat generators and energy sources. In addition to serial production, we have been designing major projects in Europe for many years, in cooperation with special partner companies.

Stainless Steel System. The high-quality processing of stainless steel is our core competence and at
the same time forms the base for many more products in all aspects of flue gas evacuation. The material
itself is perfect for this purpose: durable, robust and resistant. It can be processed flexibly and even
looks brilliant. Therefore it’s not surprising that these flue gas systems are very popular and are used
regularly in residential buildings. There is a distinction between single and double-walled systems. The
single-walled pipes are mainly used for retrofitting existing chimneys, while the double-walled systems
are approved for free installation inside and outside of buildings.

Shaft for flue gas systems in new buildings and restorations of multi-storey houses
Range of Use: Oil, gas
Shaft Systems. Shaft systems are installed discretely in the house. In the case of restoration they
simply replace the old chimney, when new buildings are constructed they can be installed from the
start. They can be used for additional purposes as needed, such as supplying air for an operation
that is independent of ambient air or offering a second shaft for further installation pipes for building
equipment. The small dimensions and light design are static and architectural arguments for a shaft
system. In most cases they don’t require an additional base and can even be installed on many wood
beam ceilings. Shaft systems are all-rounders for universal use.
Chimney Outlets. Under this umbrella term you find cowl casings, bonnets and chimney extensions.
Cowl casings are often used to protect the building fabric from weather, but they’re also a decorative
completion for every shaft system. The various types of bonnets solve different problems, from simply
protecting against foliage, rain and nesting birds to purposefully improving the combustion behaviour
of your fireplace. The chimney extensions allow you to adjust your stainless-steel flue gas system to new

Range of Use: Oil, gas, solid fuels
The flue gas system is already integrated in this shaft system. Due to dry construction and the integrated stainless-steel flue gas
system the system can immediately be finished and heated after installation.
These shaft systems are assembled with the suitable chimney system as needed. The strengths of these shafts result from
the divers applications - be it as a single-duct shaft for flue gas pipes or as a single or double-duct shaft for an air-flue-gas system for solid fuels or as an installation shaft for cables

experience. The metallic surface seal without elastomer seal rings is free from wear and maintenance
which means that there are no follow-up costs. Between the high-quality stainless steels is a 30
mm thick biologically safe insulation that allows for a low surface temperature with compact overall

The double-walled, moisture resistant DW is the reliable classic with clamp fitting installation. The system has a so-called capillary stop that prevents moisture from leaking into the insulation of the flue gas system from the outside. The capillary stop also prevents condensate on the inside to leak into the insulation. This means your system is technologically safe and you can enjoy your durable system made by Raab for a long time.
Connecting the elements with a clamp fitting is easy, reliable and has proven to work great for many
years.
The double-walled system has a 30 mm insulation that protects the outer pipe from getting too hot.
This means the flue gas system can be installed in close proximity to the facade. Inside the building
the distance to flammable materials can also be reduced considerably. The insulation also ensures that
temperature fluctuations and weather conditions only have a small effect on the flue gas flow. The
system’s modular design fits all structural requirements and is assembled on-site by specialists.

It can be used as a supply or exhaust air pipe or a flue gas pipe on the facade if heat insulation is
not an issue. EW-Alkon is the number one choice for foresightful constuctors that want solutions for
tomorrow today. Operation of stoves that is independent of ambient air, later conversion to calorific-
value technology or retrofitting flue-gas heat exchangers. With EW-Alkon you count on the Europe-wide

The single-walled, moisture-resistant EW is the reliable classic for modernizing existing chimney systems.
Installing the elements with the trusted bush-plug connection is easy, reliable and has proven its worth in
practise for many years. In the case of unforeseen situations on-site, the system can easily be shortened
without affecting the functionality of the bush-plug connection. EW can be built up from the chimney
base to the collar or lowered “piece by piece” from the roof.
The system can handle all challenges thanks to the variety of standard components and is assembled

The LB Universal is a light system for constructing chimneys in new buildings or for restoration. In connection with the stainless-steel flue gas sysetem EW, this shaft system is the perfect solution.
It fulfills all requirements of heat and fire protection and is also suitable for multi-storey buildings. Bushings are
no problem with the LB Universal. Because of the low weight and the small dimensions it even meets the strict
requirements of monument preservation which usually doesn’t allow for a new foundation. With the LB Universal you
can most of the time do without a foundation. The small dimensions of the chimney with its only 4 cm thick outer
shell allow for a flexible planning and make the decision for connecting a new fireplace much easier, e.g. if you want
a tiled stove or an open fireplace.
The installation is very easy thanks to dry construction. The LB Universal can be finished and heated right after
installation.

In multi-storey buildings this shaft system is suitable for flue gas systems (oil/gas) for restoration or new buildings.
It follows the fire regulations for multi-storey buildings.
This shaft system saves living space because of its small dimensions and can be insalled fast and
efficiently due to dry construction. It can be heated right after construction. It is also possible to
immediately use plaster or wallpaper on the surface.
The whole system is tailored to your needs in the factory and can be ordered with pre-installed cleaning
and connection ports which allows for a quick on-site installation. For various special cases the LB Shaft
L90 offers flexibility with its accessories, such as consoles.

The cowl casing is a professional possibility to increase your cowl’s durability for years, which means
expensive restorations aren’t necessary. Thanks to the easy installation with dry construction your
chimney can be protected against weather and sooting for a long time without difficulty. The chimney is
cleaned, newly jointed and covered with the individually designed cowl. The structure panels of the cowl
rest on props that are adjusted to your chimney, an additional insulation can be added in the clear space.
A stainless-steel cover with water drain closes the casing and drains condensate and rain. This way the
construction protects from humidity and your chimney is once again intact for many carefree years.
The cowl clearly affects the appearance of your house, which is why you can choose from many surface

Duct EN Plus
The top stabilizes the draught in the flue gas system and optimizes the combustion. Especially for
atmospheric fireplaces (i.e. the combustion air is not supplied by a fan) the Raab Duct EN Plus optimizes
the function of your system through a steady combustion. In addition to these advantages it increases the
operational safety of the heating since critical winds have hardly any effect on the evacuation of smoke.
In order to make maintenace easier for the chimneysweep, the bonnet can be opened without tools
thanks to the quick fastener and free up the way into the chimney.
Chimney Extensions
These extensions increase the length of the chimney and also the draught in the system. Chimney
extensions can influence the capacity of the flue gas system to e.g. react to changing requirements for

Extensive Support for Planning
In order to easily and quickly aligne all aspects that are relevant for planning an economical flue gas
system, Raab offers their product portfolio of the ALKON programs as a CAD library for all planners of
house and building equipment. This way experts receive a complete 2D and 3D components catalogue
including the flue gas components such as flue gas silencers by Kutzner + Weber. This shows
immediately if the flue gas system can be built with standard components or if special designs are
required. The plans can also be used to generate a bill of quantities for parts lists and biddings.
For developing the software, Raab cooperates with the liNear Corporation for Constructive Design.
The company provides CAD libraries and product data sets for free. Thanks to regular updates and
information, the program is always up-to-date. Raab is the first manufacturer of stianless steel flue gas
systems that provides CAD libraries and product data sets for free at www.linear.de.
Conclusion:
This software cooperation and the products of flue gas technology not only allow the Raab-Group

For users of the liNear program 3D Pipe&Power, the flue gas
systems have been integrated completely with all formed and
connecting parts as the so-called 3D Pipe Class. The program builds
up the flue gas system based on „mouse clicks“ in the usual way.
