technology, provide enhanced ability to

manage design projects efficiently and

maintain a high standard of quality.

Stahl Sheaffer individuals are

experienced in performing field

surveying for both roadway and site

development projects. Our field work

facilitates the development of mapping

coverage to depict existing conditions and

present proposed construction. The data collected also permits

the development of a digital terrain model of the site which facilitates design

plans. Our field survey procedures are performed using total stations with electronic field

book capability or with our mobile LiDAR unit. Field data is collected and electronically

transferred to in-house computers where it is compiled, checked and plotted.

°Stahl Sheaffer survey teams are experienced in performing field surveying for roadway

and site development projects. Our field work results in mapping coverage to depict the

existing conditions and present the proposed construction. Our field survey procedures

are performed using total stations with electronic field book capability. Field data is

collected and electronically transferred to in house computers where it is compiled,

checked and plotted. Stahl Sheaffer provides accurate documentation of property

ownership, existing right of way, and deed research.

Boundary and topographic surveys

Utility mapping and coordination

Subdivision surveys

ALTA/ACSM surveys

360° LiDAR scanning

As-built surveys

Bridge surveys

Flood elevation surveys

Right of way documentation

GPS services

Base plan preparation

Construction stakeout

Stahl Sheaffer can now collect more detailed information more quickly

using a mobile LiDAR system – a remote sensing technology that

measures distance by illuminating a target with two lasers scanning

360 degrees and analyzing the reflected light. A rapidly firing laser

covers the entire landscapes in a few sweeps, “painting” the

topography and extracting data. Computer software then transforms

raw numbers into colorful 3-D point clouds, and the end products are

multilayered, high-resolution maps.

For roadway management, Stahl Sheaffer’s

customized roadway defect tracking

technology is applied to identify and flag

roadway conditions within the scanned

data. 3-D point cloud information can be

used in conjunction with 360 panoramic

video to create as-builts for facility, land

development, or roadway projects.

and reviewed biweekly to insure there are no delays jeopardizing completion dates, and

will perform ‘constructability reviews’ to evaluate areas of potential time and material

savings and to evaluate whether the Contractor is within the original submitted schedule.

If our evaluations reveal that schedules are lagging or if additional work is identified, we

will notify the contractor and owner immediately and help develop means to restore the

project to schedule. Stahl Sheaffer has a proven track record of maintaining all bookwork

in a current state, and closing out projects within one month of project completion. Our

inspectors maintain current certifications in areas of expertise (NICET, NECEPT, ACI, etc.)
