Bathtub vs Shower If you take a shower for about 5 minutes you will use about 60 liters of warmwater (approximately 40 °C). The energyamount is about 2.2 kWh (kilowatthours). Taking a bath instead will be a lot more energy-consuming beacuse you will use three times more water and energy, namely 6.6kWh and 180 liters of water, that’s a pretty big difference. According to our source it will cost a regular family ( 4 people) 4015 swedish crowns ( about 400€ ) if every member want to shower 5 minutes/day. These numbers will only be correct if the electricity price is 5 penny/liter.
