Consider adoption of Resolution No. 17-019 approving revised classification specifications ofTransit Projects Supervisor and Transportation Supervisor.
BACKGROUND/RATIONALE
Transit Projects Supervisor (AFSCME/Grade 7). This unit was transferred from Service Planningto the Maintenance Department. The classification specification was revised to more accuratelyreflect the current duties, responsibilities and physicalrequirements of this position. There is nochange to the salary grade or overall levelof responsibility.
Transportation Supervisor (AFSCME/Grade 6). This job specification was revised to reflectchanges due to negotiations with AFSCME. Additional experience will not be required forOperations Control Center assignments and alltransportation supervisors wlllbe trained on theOperations Control Center. There is no change to the salary grade or overall level ofresponsibility.
BUDGETARY/FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscalimpact. There is no change to the salary grade of the Transit Projects Supervisoror the Transportation Supervisor classifications.
ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES
If approved, the advantages are revised classifications that align with the job functions of thecurrent positions. There is no disadvantage to approving these revisions.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYSIS
The alternative is for the Board not to approve these revised classifications and continue to dobusiness as-is. This is not recommended because it would result in job duties that are not alignedwith the classification specifications.

RESOLUTION NO. 17-019
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REVISED CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS OF TRANSITPROJECT SUPERVISOR AND TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR.
WHEREAS, Public Utilities Code Section 24886 authorizes the Board of Directors of theAlameda-Contra Costa Transit District to determine and create such number and character of
positions in the District as are necessary to carry on the functions of the District; as well as toestablish the appropriate salary, salary range or wage for each classification created by theDistrict; and
WHEREAS, the General Manager has assessed the current personnel needs of theDistrict and determined amendments to the classification plan are necessary for the properoperation of the District; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has reviewed and considered the recommendation ofthe General Manager to adopt the revised classification specifications of Transit ProjectSupervisor and Transportation Supervisor.
NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit Districtdoes resolve as follows:
Sections. Adopts the revised classification specifications of Transit ProjectSupervisor and Transportation Supervisor as set forth in Exhibits A and B of this resolution.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage byfour affirmative votes of the Board of Directors.
