It delivers key information about the School Vision and Mission, culture, values and policy settings to guide responsible and appropriate behaviour and decision making B. To provide newly appointed staff with an understanding and appreciation of the specific requirements of their job and knowledge of the functions of their work area II. Principles A. The induction process is conducted to familiarise employees with their roles, responsibilities, and entitlements and orientating them to applicable workplace and organisational policies, resources and support services. III. Procedures A. An Induction Meeting should occur before commencement of employment. The following will be covered: An introduction of all people presently employed and their roles. The clear expectations of the Coordinator for all employees of the School. A brief history of the School. The Vision, Mission and Cultural ethos of the School. Administrative matters, annual leave, sick leave, superannuation and long service leave accrual. Learning technologies and the correct use of these including the use of email, the internet and intranet, laptops/computers, mobile phones, iPads, smart boards and so forth. Staff Policies and Procedures- distribution of a Staff Induction package including Dropbox link to relevant policies Security matters including access onto site, passwords and codes for alarms, keys for entry and safe practices for after-hours entry and use of facilities.

Staff Induction Policy 2015

I. Aims

A. The induction program welcomes newly appointed employees and accelerates

a sense of acceptance and belonging to the School. It delivers key information

about the School Vision and Mission, culture, values and policy settings to

guide responsible and appropriate behaviour and decision making

B. To provide newly appointed staff with an understanding and appreciation of

the specific requirements of their job and knowledge of the functions of their

work area

II. Principles

A. The induction process is conducted to familiarise employees with their roles,

III. Procedures

School timetable details, staff duties, general daily procedures

General Staff information such as staff meeting dates/times, school lunches,

amenities charges, First Aid, OH&S, evacuation procedures, employee

parking and insurance of personal property.

Governance structure and introduction to President of the board

B. A staff induction package will be provided to new employees. Policies will be

made available via a link to the Council Dropbox

C. A copy of the Fair Work Information Sheet will be provided in the induction

package

IV. Responsibilities

A. The Coordinator is responsible for the overall implementation of the induction

process. This process may be delegated to a senior teacher if Coordinator is

unavailable

B. Coordinator, or delegate, to initiate the induction process and ensure that

induction checklist and associated tasks are completed within two weeks of

commencement of employment.

C. Coordinator to ensure that a copy of the employee’s contract is signed,

returned and kept on file.

D. Employee to return all required documentation such as signed contract,

TRBWA registration, WWC check, police clearance, taxation and

superannuation forms, bank details.

E. Employee to sign induction checklist as evidence that policy and guideline

documents included in the induction package have been sighted.

F. Coordinator to review policy and guidelines documents annually to ensure

accuracy of information

I have read and agree to comply to all policies provided in the staff

induction package and additional policies published on the website

I have provided my Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia

(TRBWA) registration details, Working With Children Check (WWC),

Police Clearance (Volunteers, Education Assistants and Administration

staff).

I have provided emergency contact details to the administration assistant

I have received a set of keys to access the school building
