C.E.L.T Wellbeing Research Associate Award Staff Development Series Spring 2019 Welcome to the Staff Development Series Spring 2019 There are some key themes to staff development for 2019: 1. All events are linked with the UK Professional Standards Framework. We will encourage all academic staff to apply for the next stage of their professional journey of UKPSF through our own accredited scheme (DELTA Framework). Each event will make explicit links to support staff in their career development. 2. We have provided this very full list of activities which are available so that academic staff have a simple reference point. We have incorporated different types of event. For example, there are workshop events and discussion forums led by staff from BGU. So that you are not overwhelmed with Outlook invitations, we will send invitations monthly. We look forward to seeing you at some upcoming events. 3. During this semester there will be an additional programme of events to introduce and support our Digital Capabilities Framework and the VLE. You will be advised of these separately each month. 4. Each academic school has its own Learning and Teaching Advocate who will support the development series and will be able to offer guidance of the UKPSF. Finance Regulatory Compliance Library

Hardy Student Engagement Conference Attendees will learn how powerful growth mind set is for individuals and also when used collectively. The student movement works as a group and uses resilience/growth mind set to ensure that the student voice is heard so as to make a difference, create change and to grow. The SE Conference in 2018 celebrated failure and the aim of the conference was to challenge the delegates’ perception of failure, thus enabling them to view failure as an opportunity for personal growth. The 2019 conference will build on the ‘Celebrating Failure’ theme and show delegates the power behind growth mind set. The 2019 theme feeds into the institutional enhancement of wellbeing.
