Spend from June to September working and living the American dream anywhere in America! We work with hundreds of employers throughout the States that have been hiring BUNACers each summer for over 50 years. Secure work before you go by using our online résumé builder and Job Zone or impress employers in person when you arrive!

The 4-month working J-1 visa can only be obtained with the assistance of an organisation such as BUNAC. We help you with all aspects of your visa application, US embassy appointment and job search, as well as provide support for the duration of your trip.

Visa applicationApplying for a J-1 visa can be complicated; however we’ve been doing it for 50 years so we’ve simplified it as much as possible. Our visa team checks your application at every stage, ensuring that visa refusals and delays are rare. We also liaise with the US Embassy on your behalf and make sure you’re fully prepared for your visa appointment.

Exclusive BUNAC Job ZoneHunt for US jobs without the hassle! We work year round to find employers who want to recruit BUNACers for the summer. Access to the Job Zone’s vacancies are only available to Work America participants with most employers offering subsidised accommodation. Simply upload your info into the résumé builder and apply to as many vacancies as you like with the click of a button!

Want to extend your search? The J-1 visa is totally flexible and you can find your own job. We’re on hand to advise you on your independent search!

With a limited number of visas available to UK passport holders it is important to make sure that your application is correct first time. With 25 years’ experience BUNAC can answer any questions you have when completing the visa process. We’ll also offer advice about job hunting, flights and insurance so you can start your adventure without any hiccups!

Orientation and walk in resource centresWe have two Canadian offices, run by our partners Work n Holiday, based in Toronto and Vancouver. Receive a warm welcome to the country and meet other travellers at our comprehensive arrival orientation. We can help set up your bank account and Social Insurance Number to make sure you can start job hunting without delay! You will have access to the internet in our exclusive computer suites year round and the chance to meet fellow working holiday travellers.

Job hunting and CV adviceThe resource centres have wall-to-wall job and accommodation listings! Speak to the staff for advice about the national job market, interview tips and help ensuring your CV fits the Canadian format! Not in Toronto or Vancouver? Worry not! You will have access to an extensive online jobs database with vacancies all over the country. The jobs are updated 3 times a week and the office staff are available throughout the year by phone and email to answer all of your Canuck questions!

From the day you book, use our expert staff to help with all aspects of your pre-departure planning. The visa application can be rather tricky, but our experienced team can help you throughout the process to prevent any mistakes! You’ll receive a Lonely Planet guide book to ensure you know the difference between Uluru and a kangaroo, get advice on insurance and the chance to book a group flight with other BUNACers to start making mates before you land!

Arrival orientation in our Australian officesWith offices in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, you can choose where to explore first down under. Each office has daily arrival orientations, offering comprehensive advice on transport, accommodation, work, tax and banking. Get support from staff in person or wherever you are via email and phone throughout the year!

Job database and job hunting assistanceLog on to Work n Holiday’s exclusive job database filled with jobs specifically for working holiday makers like you! Jobs are updated 3 times per week and are never advertised longer than 3 weeks, so there are no time wasters! Book a one-to-one session with a member of the Work n Holiday staff and you’ll receive expert CV and job hunting advice.

With sun, surf and snow… New Zealand’s the place to go!Whether you’re considering working on an organic farm in the North Island, bungee jumping in Queenstown or waiting tables in Wellington, the Work New Zealand programme is perfect for you!

Our Auckland walk-in centre offers full support for the duration of your trip so you’ll be able to explore the adventure capital of the world without going it alone.

? How it worksThere are two visas that allow you to live, work and travel in New Zealand on a flexible basis. BUNAC can help with both visas to ensure that you receive full support from the second you apply in the UK until the day your visa expires.

The Working Holiday Visa allows you to work for 12 months but stay for up to 23 months and is available to anyone aged 18-30. You can work in any job, anywhere in New Zealand.

Exclusive to BUNAC in the UK, the IEP Work Exchange Visa allows you to work and travel for up to 12 months and is available to anyone aged 18-35, even if you have previously held the Working Holiday Visa.

BUNAC provides support in the UK, organises group flights and can help you apply for your visa. Our partner, IEP, in New Zealand has a walk-in resource centre in Auckland and will assist you for the duration of your trip.

Join 10 – 40 other BUNACers on our monthly group flights to Auckland with options of one way and return flights via Asia, the Americas and the Pacific Islands! All group flights include accommodation and tours during a 3-day stopover in Hong Kong with an English speaking guide and transfers to the IEP office in Auckland. However, more importantly you’ll get to travel with fellow BUNAC travellers making the whole trip a lot less daunting.

Arrival orientation in our Auckland officeTake a seat with new arrivals and get the A-Z on all things NZ at our Auckland office. The comprehensive presentation will cover everything from jobs, accommodation and transport through to information about banking and tax. You’ll also be given an arrival pack including maps, accommodation guides and a mobile SIM card.

The Auckland office is fully equipped with a computer suite with internet access, available to you for the entire duration of your stay.

Going to be in another city? Don’t fret; you can use all of IEP’s services simply by logging on or calling one of the IEP experts wherever you are!

Job and accommodation helpThe IEP team will give you great advice to improve your CV and let you know about jobs around the country!
