SACRAMENTAL LIFE
BAPTISM: One Preparation Class is required. The Class will meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Rectory Hall. Baptism is celebrated on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, attend Noon Mass then Baptism immediately following.
MARRIAGES: An appointment should be made with one of the priests or deacons at least six months prior to the wedding. This should be done before a date or banquet hall is reserved.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: Saturday: 3:30—4:15 p.m. You may also call the rectory for an appointment.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - REGISTER NOW

SAN ROCCO DI POTENZA PATRON SAINT OF THE SICK
112th Anniversary Feast SUNDAY, AUGUST 16
Mass: Noon Mass celebrated by Fr. Peter Premarini, Fr. Robert Lojek & Fr. Stan Czarnecki
Procession: Begins at 1:30pm. The venerated statue of San Rocco along with the Holy Relic will be carried in a solemn procession through the streets of the parish, accompanied by La Banda Siciliana. Benedication of the Blessed Sacrament will be cele-brated when San Rocco returns to the outside altar in front of church.
Novena: August 7—15, at 8:15am Mass except on August 9; then at 7:30am.
Anointing Mass: Tuesday, August 11 at 7:00pm in Church.
Food & Entertainment: Celebrate with us on Sunday, August 16 on Sayre Avenue in front of the church, from 11:00am—10:00pm. There will be food vendors offering a variety of Italian food specialties, beverages, desserts and Italian novelties will be for sale, rain or shine, in the Community Tent. In front of church, La Banda Siciliana performs immediately after the procession and Benediction followed by Stella Raimondi & Enzo Scarano.

St. William Continues:
FIRST FRIDAY MASS TO HONOR THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
First Friday’s have always been devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We continue to honor this tradition.
The next First Friday Mass will be: August 7 at 8:15 a.m. Confessions will be heard from 7:30 am until 8:00 am. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place immediately following the 8:15 a.m. Mass. We will pray the Litany of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for new and holy vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.
Jesus’ Promises to Those Who Keep This Devotion
1. I will give them all the graces necessary. 2. I will establish peace in their families. 3. I will console them in all their troubles. 4. My Sacred Heart will provide a refuge. 5. Abundant blessings for all undertakings. 6. Sinners shall find an ocean of mercy. 7. Tepid souls shall become fervent. 8. Fervent souls shall rise to perfection. 9. Blessings for homes where an image of My Heart is exposed and honored. 10. Priests will have power to touch hearts. 11. The names of those keeping this devotion shall be written in My Heart, forever. 12. The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to those receiving Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My Heart shall be their assured refuge at that last hour.

Bardzo Ważne
Pragniemy poinformować parafian, jak również gości, że w niedziele, 16 Sierpnia odbędzie się w naszej parafii odpust parafialny ku czci Św. Rocha. Specjalna Msza świeta zostanie odprawiona o godzinie 12 tej w języku wloskim, a po Mszy świętej odbędzie sie procesja z relikwiami Św. Rocha po ulicach naszej okolicy. W zwiazku z tym informujemy, że polska Msza świeta o godzinie 2- giej po południu nie odbędzie sie. Niemniej jednak serdecznie zapraszamy wszystkich chetnych do wzięcia udziału w parafialnym odpuście. ŚW. KRZYSZTOF PATRO KIEROWCÓW I IE TYLKO…
Święty Krzysztof jest jednym z popularniejszych świętych znanych na całym świecie, którego czcimy szczególnie 25 lipca i wtedy też święcimy różne pojazdy. W naszej Parafii św. Williama święcenie nowych pojazdów odbędzie się po każdej Mszy świętej w weekend 25/26 lipca. Przy tej okazji warto dowiedzieć się słów kilka o dobrze nam znanym świętym, który jest patronem kierowców, ale nie tylko…
O życiu św. Krzysztofa brak pewnych wiadomości. Pewne jest, że żył na początku trzeciego wieku i że zmarł śmiercią męczeńską, ale reszta wiadomości oparta jest na przekazach ustnych i legendach. Legenda mówi, że rodzice dali mu na imię Reprobus, co miało znaczyć Odrażający, był on bowiem bardzo brzydki. Odznaczał się także ponadludzką siłą. Najpierw służył u władcy swojej krainy, a po nawróceniu przyjął chrzest i postanowił służyć Chrystusowi. Za pokutę osiedlił się na Jordanem i przenosił ludzi przez rzekę na swych potężnych ramionach.
Pewnej nocy usłyszał, że dziecko prosi o
przeniesienie na drugi brzeg. Wziął je na ramiona i zaczął nieść. Dziecko stawało się coraz cięższe, tak że w pewnym momencie Reprobusowi groziło utonięcie. Dotarł jednak do drugiego brzegu i spytał "Kim jesteś?". Usłyszał: "Jam jest Jezus, twój Zbawiciel. Dźwigając mnie, dźwigasz cały świat". Na pamiątkę tego zdarzenia Reprobus miał otrzymać greckie imię Christophoros, co oznacza "niosący Chrystusa". Legenda wspomina też, że Pan Jezus przywrócił Krzysztofowi normalny wygląd.
W średniowieczu św. Krzysztof został zaliczony do grona 14 "Wspomożycieli", czyli do szczególnych patronów. Opiekował się podróżnymi, pielgrzymami, przewodnikami, flisakami, marynarzami. Dziś uważany jest za patrona kierowców, ruchu i komunikacji oraz wielu zawodów z nimi związanych: woźniców, żeglarzy, biegaczy, jest opiekunem dróg górskich, stolarzy, cieśli, kapeluszników, farbiarzy, introligatorów, poszukiwaczy skarbów, sprzedawców owoców, ogrodników, opiekunem twierdz i fortec, patronem dzieci.
W ikonografii św. Krzysztof przedstawiany jest przede wszystkim z Dzieciątkiem Jezus na ramieniu i laską w dłoni.
