King David said, “I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing” (2 Samuel 24:24). David knew the importance of giving to God something meaningful or of value. David felt that his giving should cost him something. When we give sacrificially, as David did, we understand that it has less to do with how much we give than how much we give up. To give sacrificially means that we give something we love to something we love even more.

Do you like to hear Laypeople reading from the Lectern? Do you want to hear more people, more often? Then YOU need to sign up as soon as possible! Please let Richard Trudelle or the office know, and we will get you on the schedule. Yes, we will train you, help you and try to remind you, but we need YOU! Thanks to all those that are in the program. You mean a great deal to us and your service to God does not go un-noticed.

Preschool will be holding its annual fall fundraiser from October 7th-October 21st. We are using the same Michigan based company as last year, Aspire Fundraising. They offer a wide variety of home décor items, kitchen gadgets, flower bulbs, wrapping paper,

gourmet food, sweet treats, and many other products for both your own enjoyment and gift-giving. Julie Schultz will be at church services Saturday and Sunday, October 15th and 16th to take orders. Payment is due when orders are placed. Thank-you for your continuous support of our church’s preschool program!

Thank you to everyone who knitted or crocheted magic hug squares and donated beanie babies. We collected over 130. They have been donated to the Huron Valley Optimist Club. From there they will be given to several hospitals in our area. Children will receive the magic hugs when undergoing

treatment. So far 25,000 have been donated. If you would like to continue knitting you can drop off your completed project at the White Lake Library. Thank you, Judy Spresney and Carol Koenig

NUT ORDER DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 2 Have you placed your nut & candy order yet? You’d better hurry. The deadline is Sunday, October 2nd. Order forms are available in the Narthex and on the Ladies’ Guild bulletin board.

God already knows the children who will receive our gift boxes. For information about this project, contact Sharon Gehrke at 248.620.2011.
