MOST HOLY BODY & BLOOD OF CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI) - JUNE 18, 2017

Dear Parishioners and Friends:

On this day of holy remembrance, let us pay special a en on to the words of the

Eucharis c prayer. I offer this prayer for your reflec on during the week: God of all goodness, you lavish your love on us at this table. Give us grateful hearts and the courage and strength to be eucharist for one another and the world around us. Amen. HAPPY FATHERS DAY! On this special day, we remember in prayer our fathers, our grandfathers and all who have fathered and guided us in many ways. Bless them with happiness and good health, with peace and good fortune. We thank you for the numer-ous good things that are ours because of you. May you enjoy a blessed week.

Sincerely yours, Fr. John Sakowski

Reflec on on the Gospel

Jesus is the living bread come down from heaven.

Today we are gathered at the Eucharist to celebrate the meaning of the Eucharist. It is a day for reminders. God nourishes us for our journey through life. Moses tells the people not to forget the Lord who fed them with manna in the desert.

St. Paul reminds us that the bread that is broken and the cup that is blessed is a sharing in the body and blood of Christ. Jesus announces in the Gospel that He is the living bread; whoever eats this bread will live forever! When it comes me for communion, let us approach the Lord with humility of heart and offer a prayer of gra tude for this gi beyond measure.
