Dear Parishioners, The Gospel of the Clearing of the Temple is often referenced to should Jesus’ humanity as He appears to lose His temper. His frustration was not of the selling taking place, but the cheating that was taking place to overcharge the poor Jewish people for the animals which they needed to perform their religious ritual sacrifices. The sellers were taking advantage of the poor Jewish people and exploiting them. Jesus always is frustrated when people are being taken advantage of and not valued. Fr. Brandt

Many people are also concerned about all the violence in this great country of the United States. These concerns are very good. But often these same people are not concerned with the millions who are being killed by the deliberate decision of their own mothers. And this is what is the greatest destroyer of peace today—abortion, which brings people to such blindness. Mother Teresa

To Our Parish Family, The success of our parish community is seen in the increase of several ministries and the expanded participation by many parishioners. The recent acknowledgement of the National Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence continues to point to the success of our school community. The growth of our Parish is accompanied by increased financial obligations. I recognize that we have been conducting our Capital Campaign for over ten years, and we are currently in preparation to build our Ministry Center; and we are grateful for all who support the campaign. We appreciate everyone who has participated in the various fundraisers that our parish has held which raised over $109,000. Thank you again for your involvement and for helping make these events and our parish so successful. A financial summary for the period July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 is on the next page. This report includes a summary of our operating income and expenses for the above referenced period as well as an overview of our cash position and mortgages for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017. Sacramental Statics: Baptism - 129; Reconciliation - 117; 1st Communion - 118; Confirmation - 128; Marriage - 28

We ask you to make a commitment to sustain your current giving and if possible, to increase your offering. SCRIP PROGRAM – With the Scrip Program we can raise money for our parish by shopping with gift cards for everyday purchases like food, clothing and entertainment. CANCER PATIENT SUPPORT MINISTRY

The reality of the disease of Cancer is widely pervasive throughout our society. Within

our Parish Community cancer seems to touch more families each week. Though the exposure to cancer can have common factors in most individuals, circumstances can be unique for many cancer patients and their families. The age of a patient and their family structure can create unique factors in people’s lives. The issue of recurrence and the severity of an initial diagnose can also contribute to the unique circumstances for a patient. The experience of supporting a family member through a death caused by cancer, can give an individual specific insights which may be helpful to others. As a parish, we cannot affect the presence of cancer in the families of our parish, but we can strive to assist these families with prayers and support.

The Cancer Patient Support Ministry at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish is beginning. This is a ministry which will allow parishioners with experience in dealing with the reality of cancer to assist other parishioners who receive a diagnosis of cancer. The mission of this ministry is to connect parishioners to one another in their journey through the realities of cancer treatment. The mission includes creating a parish prayer list specifically for those who are dealing with cancer. Anyone who would like to give support to others or who are looking to receive support through this journey, please send an email

to the following address: [email protected]. If you do not have email access call the Parish Office: (610) 287-2525 ext100.
