FROM THE PASTOR…
Dear Parishioners,
I want to thank you for your support of the 2018 Annual Catholic
Appeal.
As of June 25th, close to 200 of you have pledged $45,012 on our as-
signed parish goal of $39,991. $37,047.25 of that amount has already been
paid, with an outstanding balance of $7,964.75. Although we’re not ―there‖
until the outstanding amount is paid, this is good news.
Your participation inspires me, because it demonstrates your under-
standing of supporting the faith and continuing a legacy. Your commitment
builds upon the sacrifices of the past generations for the benefit of the church
of the future. When we give generously, we live gratefully.
You help develop and sustain life-giving ministries and enable our
Catholic Church in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens to provide services
that benefit so many, especially those most in need. I am edified by your see-
ing this bigger picture.
As you know, the overage in St. Raphael’s efforts in the Appeal returns
to our parish. It will help us pay for the recent contract I signed for the repav-
ing of our church parking lot. This bill comes in at just under $70,000.
This will not be just a topping or ―pour-over‖, but a re-milling of the
entire area—front, side and back. We hope to do it towards the end of the
summer. Will keep you posted as the timetable firms up.
-Father Jerry Jecewiz
