A BLESSED FATHER'S DAY As we celebrate Father's Day today, I wish all the men who are fathers a good, peaceful and joyful day. For those reading this column: if your father lives nearby, please visit him; if your father lives at a distance, please call him; and if your father is deceased, please pray for him. Being a good father is an important voca on; I'm glad to see so many fathers and grandfathers in our parish who live their voca on well. Let's support them with our prayers today.

HOW IS THE REOPENING? For the last few weeks we have been slowly reopening our parish. Last Sunday we had slightly over 100 people at the 9:00am Mass; it was a wonderful sight! My thanks to our team of volunteers led by Rick Allen and Steve Laky who prepared everything for Mass and then cleaned the church a erward. We are following all the protocols in order to help everyone remain safe and healthy. For this weekend and next weekend, we will have confessions from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday and one Mass at 9:00am on Sunday. Once Father Ma hew arrives as Pastor, he can determine if the schedule will change as more people return to Mass in our church. Please join us at the 9:00am Mass next week; you can register on our website (www.straphaelcatholic.org) or by calling the parish office. FAREWELL Next Sunday will be my final Sunday as Pastor of St. Raphael the Archangel Parish. I will write a re-flec on to share with you next week about the four years we have shared together; please watch for it. People have asked if there will be some "farewell" event. A er discussing this with parish leader-ship and Father Ma hew Kowalski, your new pastor, we have agreed that I will return to St. Raphael the weekend of August 29/30. By then I will be ordained a bishop and there should be more people ready to come to church. More details will be shared soon. Please know that I am most grateful for the many ways you have shared your faith with me as disciples of the Lord. I will s ll be living here un l July 8. A er July 8, my new address will be: Diocese of Belleville, 222 South Third Street Belleville, IL 62220.
