A Prayer for Our Nation Dear God, as we face these uncertain times in our nation and the world, we ask you, Lord, to dwell among us. We are comforted by the knowledge that You alone are our Savior and Lord, and the ultimate Master of life. We trust our nation to Your loving care, Lord. Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation’s leaders. Give them the wisdom to know what is right, and the courage to do it. Give us Your light and Your truth to guide us in our ways so that we may seek Your will in our lives and impact the world around us for Your Kingdom. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen

Adoration Schedule at St. Philip Neri
Jesus is just one prayer away! Independence is a good thing. It teaches us self-
reliance and allows us to succeed at many things. But sometimes, we take it too far. We believe our way is the only way, no one else can do it right, or that by asking for help, we are weak. These attitudes in-
crease the weight of our responsibilities a thousand fold. So how do we get out from under this self-made af-
fliction that is dragging us down? Jesus says, “Come to Me...and I will give you rest.” He is always near, waiting to guide us to a better way. We only need to
reach out to Him. Even our smallest prayer will be heard.
Our responsibilities in this world are many. We need to remember that it is God, not us, who is in the driv-er’s seat. Being followers of Jesus, we are called to
live in service of others. By its very nature, that also requires us to be served by others, too. That is often much harder for us to accept. We aren’t meant to do
it all by ourselves. Yet it can be difficult for us to give up our perceived control. Start by reaching out to Jesus. He is ready and waiting - just one prayer
away.

Stewardship Moment - July 5th, 2020 14th Sunday of Ordinary Time
“For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” Matt 11:30
When we think of being good stewards, we may think that God is asking too much of us when He calls us to generously share our time, talent and treasure. However, we must remember that we are not “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small portion, in gratitude, of what He has already given to us.
