(except for July 2, which is the Patriotic Service.)
3yr olds-2nd grade will meet in the lower level Bible study room. This group still has leader openings for a few
Sundays, please consider sharing your time with them!
Grades 3-8 will meet in Zach Cameron’s Sunday School classroom. (Upper level– fourth door on right).

LWML meets alternating months on the third Tuesday
beginning in February and ending in October.
The next LWML meeting will be held on Tuesday,
JUNE 20 at 1:00 pm in the Lounge. ALL ladies of
St. Peter are invited to attend!
Summer is a busy time for families. There are so many activities that take place on the weekends. If your Sunday is filled, don’t forget we have a Wednes-day evening service at 7, and Bible Study at 6 for those who are unable to attend on Sundays. It our prayer that you won’t deprive yourself of our much- needed Spiritual food during these months!
Could you give an hour or two of your time to serve our Lord in worship? There is a great need for Greeters and Ushers especially during the summer months. To volunteer do one of these:
1.Sign the sheet on the table in the foyer. 2.Call the church office. 3. Speak with Bill Wagenecht, this month’s Deacon in Charge.

My dear family in Christ, This world is filled with uncertainty (which leads to anxiety) and wickedness (which leads to fear). When we take our eyes off of
Christ our Shepherd and focus upon the world around us we are left with only fear and anxiety; who knows what will happen in the next moment when we are surround by such enemies as Satan, the world, and even our own flesh. Yet we have a Great Shepherd, one who goes before us and has defeated our enemies. We also have the example of others who have gone before us, who kept their eyes firmly fixed upon their Savior and ran the race with endurance.
For this reason we continue to offer two worship services each week: to ensure everyone has an opportunity to worship and receive God’s gifts no matter their schedules; and also to help all of us keep our eyes fixed on Christ; for evil does not rest but continually seeks to rob us of that peace that only Christ can give (John 14:27). Also, when we gather together we are able to more freely cast all our anxieties on Him (1 Peter 5:6-7) as we seek first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33-34) resulting in the peace of God guarding our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:6-7). This summer during Wednesday worship we have been focusing on the saints, the cloud of witnesses, and using their example as we also look to Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2a says, “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.” When we gather together, we are surrounded by the heavenly realm! We are joining in the worship that is going on in heaven! Who wouldn’t want to do that more often!! We even proclaim this in our Communion Service, “with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we laud and magnify your glorious name…”. The question becomes, why don’t we worship more often!? I leave you with an example from an upcoming service (June 14th) when we look to the prophet Elisha who saw into the unseen world with clarity and saw he was surrounded by the angels of the Lord in the midst of his battle (2 Kings 6:15-17). His example reminds us that we are truly surrounded by God’s angels, sent to watch over us. The example of Elisha is just one we could choose for in June there is also St. Justin, Martyr (June 1st), St. Boniface of Mainz, Missionary to the Germans (June 5th), St Irenaeus of Lyons, Pastor (June 28th) along with a host of others. As well as commemorations such as The Presentation of the Augsburg Confession (June 25). Each saint is an example for us as they lived their lives in service to our Lord and commemorations remind us of the work of the church throughout history. All of these days the church has chosen are ways to help each of us remain focused on Christ, the founder and perfecter of our faith, as we travel through this world. I hope you will join us in worship as we cast our the fears and anxieties which plague us while we run the race focused on Christ.

NEW TUESDAY “LIVING TRUTH”
Join us beginning Tuesday, June 13th for
a six-week study entitled “Detours.”
We’ll look at the life of Joseph and see
that God was clearly working in his life
as He certainly is in ours, even when it
seems otherwise. Join us Tuesdays at
1:30 pm.
CHURCH WORSHIP POLICIES:
The Church Board has enacted a new safety procedure during our worship services. Beginning immediately all doors
except for the double doors at the main entrance will be locked at the time of the bell ringing. The lower level office door will be locked before the bell ringing. Also, please note that all children are to be accompanied by an adult when leaving the sanctu-ary during the worship service.

BOOK reMARKS Many of you have read “HEAVEN,” by Randy Alcorn. If you haven’t, please consider doing so. Why not learn as much as we can about the grand adventure of eternity?
Max Lucado also has written an interesting book on that subject: “When Christ Comes, (the beginning of the very best).” Max writes: “Our pre-K minds are ill-equipped to handle the thoughts of eternity” (page 5) In John 14:1-3. Jesus states: I will come--(Lucado paraphrase,) You do the trusting and I’ll do the taking. “Because of the resurrection, everything (death, the cemetery, even the coffin) ‘The casket is no longer a box where we hide bodies, but rather a cocoon in which the body is kept until God sets it free to fly.’” (page 27.)
Finally, you might enjoy considering the illustration of Fred the hamster. (pages 154-156). I’ve got heaven on my mind, hope you do to.

We cannot avoid the reality of the vast needs in our world.
Natural disasters, and man’s inhumanity to man have
created situations sad beyond words. As Pastor Mark
taught us recently, “belonging to a church is a gift,” and
part of our church is Lutheran World Relief. So, it follows
that the opportunity to contribute to the Lord’s work thru
them is a gift we can appreciate. Right now, (ending on
July 24) any contributions received will be doubled.

IN THE FOYER we have been gifted a lovely table runner and cloths for the tables. They were a gift to Dorothy Houseman from LBT family Josh & Ruthie Wagner in Sierra Leone West Africa, whom she supports. The cloth was purchased in a local market and handmade by a local tailor there. Thank you Dorothy for sharing this gift with us!
