Society of St. Vincent de Paul 281.333.2509

Office Hours: Tuesday – Wednesday, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., Thursday: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The good news of this Gospel is that all we need to do is let God tend us and bring us to produce good fruit. All we need do is be faithful; God will take care of the rest. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul brings the love and mercy of Jesus to those who feel left out and abandoned. Neighbors in Need Update: Many of you may wonder what became of the neighbor Deacon Jim visited and spoke of several months ago. The assistance provided by this parish enabled this young Haitian mother and her son to stay in their apartment. Several safety issues with the apartment were resolved, the apartment was treated for bed bugs, and the mother was able to get her employer to give her more hours at work. New bedding was also provided by the St. Paul the Apostle Conference of St. Vincent de Paul!

We invite you to share the joy of serving our Lord by serving others through the SVDP Ministry. Please contact Nancy Pocklington for more information at [email protected].

The 14-session program begins Monday, November 10 and meets weekly into February. Cost is $30; financial assistance is available. Free childcare is provided when reservations are made in advance. The program will be facilitated by Laura Hicks, LMFT with the assistance of others who have already completed the program. As part of our Respect Life Month, representatives from Elijah Rising are presenting a human trafficking awareness night at St. Paul on Monday, October 13, from 7-8:30 PM in the church.

“As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in schools”. Author Unknown I want to take a minute to discuss our ECP teachers. We have an amazing group of hard working, loving, nurturing women working here. These ladies come in early and leave late. They do hours of work each week that they are not paid for. On more than one occasion, these ladies reach into their own pockets to purchase supplies for classroom activities. The next time you see one of our amazing ECP teachers, give a big thank you for all of their dedication to our young children. We still have a few openings in our pre-school. The fire trucks are coming! This Thursday and Friday the Nassau Bay Fire trucks will be visiting our pre-school.

I know! I will sign up for the 5k Fun Run on

Saturday.

I will definitely invite my friends to this 2 day event and we will all have a good time!

Maybe it’s better for my family to sell my cultural food on Sunday, October 26, or I could bake a cake for the cake walk Y mi familia podríamos vender el domingo 26 de octubre, en La comida internacionalo podría hornear un pastel para el cake walk.

¡Es una vez al Año!

A que el puerquito vuele…

I can donate a Basket for the Silent Auction!!

Thanks to all of our sponsors!

I really should go out and sell a pack of raffle tickets. Actually I will

sell two or three!

I really should help Oscar and sell tacos during the Tacos & Salsa night on Saturday, Oct. 25 and then I will bring my friends to enjoy the Live Music show.

Of course I could enter in the Chili Cook-Offcompetition with our family recipe where I could

win the first place! Podrida participar en el Chili Cook-Off.
