Steubenville Retreat 2019
Our gratitude to all of you for your support to our twelve youth that went to the Steubenville Conference in Spokane. The three-day event was attended by about 1300 youth and their chaperones. This year’s theme was focused around the first letter of John 3:1: “See what love the Father has bestowed on us, that we may be called children of God.”
It was really inspiring to see so many youth on fire with their faith. It is our hope and prayer that the fire of faith and love ignited in the hearts of these youth only grow and spread in their witness. Also, it was heartwarming to see that almost all the participants availed of the sacrament of confession. Close to 30 priests heard confessions throughout the conference. For many, the sacrament of reconciliation is the start for them to grow deeper in their faith and love for God.
On behalf our youth, thank you so much for all your prayerful support as well as for supporting our fundraising events. We thank also Allison Seeber and Jonathan Edmonds for accompanying our youth as chaperones. Aside from making sure that our youth are all okay, they also led them in the small group discussions.
And lastly, we thank our youth minister, Jesus Gonzalez, not just for leading and organizing our Steubenville trip but also for all his hard work with the youth of our parish. Starting this August, he will no longer be our youth minister as he will solely focus on Hispanic Ministry. We pray and wish him well on his important ministry. Let us also pray that we will be blessed with a great person to lead our youth ministry this year.
With much gratitude,
Fr. Tetzel
