SAVE YOUR USED POSTAGE STAMPS: The C.C.W. is collecting used postage stamps. Proceeds will help to broadcast the word of God in South America. Stamps need to be trimmed leaving a 1/4 inch border of the envelope or they will not be able to peel them off properly. A box marked “Used Postage Stamps” will be left in the back of church or you may drop them off at the parish office during regular office hours.

COPIES OF TODAY’S SERMON are available to take with you after Mass at St. Patrick, enabling further individual reflection on Father’s message for each of you at home. Please see the ushers for a copy as you leave, or look for them on the table on the back wall of the church.

C.C.W. EVENT: The Southwest Deanery C.C.W. Mission Event is by far the most popular event of the season. Please plan to attend on Thursday, October 25th at St. John’s in Jordan. Doors open at 5:30 PM. The purpose of the event is to fund and collect gifts for the Appalachia Program. For admission, please bring some school supplies (please no notebooks, paper, or folders). We are also invited to bring new unwrapped gifts to stock the Appalachia Christmas Free Store in Kentucky. They will be very welcome. Raffle ticket sales and selections will start at 5:30 PM followed by a 6:00 PM supper, program, and drawings. Information on table at the back of church.

TURKEY BINGO: St. Catherine’s Turkey Bingo will be held on Sunday, November 4th at 2:00 PM. $5.00 per card for the afternoon; $1.00 for each of two coverall games. Families with last names beginning A-M are asked to bring one dozen (double) sandwiches and are asked to help set up after Mass on November 6th. Families with last names beginning N-Z are asked to bring a pan of bars and to help clean up after the Turkey Bingo. Please, we need everyone to bring food. Without your help we won’t have enough food to serve lunch. The C.C.W. also is looking for door prizes and assistance working in the kitchen. SECOND COLLECTION: Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday when every Catholic in the world joins together to celebrate our vocation to be missionary. As Catholics around the world—here at home and in the Missions—gather at Eucharist around the table of the Lord, we pray for the Church’s worldwide missionary work. We pray for those awaiting the “Good News” of our Lord’s great love for us and for missionaries who offer the poor and suffering spiritual and material support. We can participate in this important missionary work by contributing financially through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith for more than 1,150 dioceses in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands. Your generosity is appreciated by all those serving overseas. Please use the envelope attached to your bulletin this week for the collection on October 21 & 22.

A COMMUNITY CARING FOR LIFE BABY SHOWER: The shower will be going on through October, Respect Life Month. Items needed are; cash, gift certificates, newborn & large diapers, newborn sweater sets, newborn clothes, layettes, Johnson & Johnson products; lotion, shampoo, etc. There will be a playpen at St. Patrick and a bassinet at St. Catherine to drop off items. Pray for the protection of the sanctity of life.
