ST NICHOL AS SERBIAN LANGUAGE SCHOOL

I would like to congratulate all of our students for an extraordinary
Term 1. They have worked so very hard in all activities and classes and
many of our outstanding students have even earned themselves a
wonderful merit certificate throughout the term.
Our last day of lessons for Term 1 will be Friday 12th April and we will
resume our lessons for Term 2 on Friday 3rd May at 6pm.
THANK YOU PARENT VOLUNTEERS
A very big thank you to Nada Christie, Ranka Stegnajic and Branislava
Bosanac for the support you provide in our classrooms each week.
Your ongoing support has made the lessons run smoothly. The teachers
and the students appreciate the additional support.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS IN TERM 2
If you would like to register to be a parent volunteer in our classes for
Term 2, please come and see me for a volunteer application form.
Please be aware that in order to be accepted as a parent volunteer,
you will need to present a current working with children check number.
Once we have all of our interested parents registered, I will create a
roster so that all parents have the opportunity to have time in our classes.
Unfortunately, we are unable to have more than 2 parents in class due
to room size constraints.
On behalf of our school and the Board, I would like to wish you all a
very happy and blessed Easter and may our Lord continue to bestow
His blessings upon you all during this significant time of the year.
We look forward to sharing a whole new learning experience with you
in Term 2.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR
Teachers
In the beginning of this month we have been
focusing on practising communicative skills with
the focus on greetings in the Serbian language.
Also, in the past two weeks we learnt about
important places which we visit on a regular
basis. By the end of this term we will make a
small book which will include basic information
of our family, our body, ways we greet each
other as well as important places that we
regularly visit.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR
Teachers
Our level 1 learners have learned to recognise
the icon from their textbook, colour them in,
relate the icon to the fresco in the church
representing the same figure and/or even from
the gospel. The kids also learned the basic
history of feast days i.e. Theophany, John
the Baptist, significance of Christ’s baptism,
appearance of the Holy Trinity.
Our level 2 group watched a part from the
movie Jesus of Nazareth and related them to
the Gospel story on Nativity, Bethlehem; we
discussed the role of Angels (Gabriel , Michael
etc) in the Gospel. They were asked to prepare
the talk and power point presentation in groups
or individually on some current topics and
share them with the group. We have had some
extraordinary presentations and it is clear that
all the students have worked hard preparing
these. Well done to all students!

SCHOOL FEE STRUCTURE 2019
$100 per one child per term
$160 per two children per term
$220 per three children per term
Children must be from the same family (not
relatives) in order to claim the discounted fees.
HOW TO PAY?
All school fees can be paid in the Church Hall
to Vera Kesic on Fridays. We accept cash
and eftpos and all transactions will be given a
receipt upon payment.
PLEASE NOTE: School fees need to be paid
prior to the end of the term.
