PASTOR’S MESSAGE

November is the month to remember those who have died. This week we celebrate two important days in

the life of the church as we remember those who have completed their journey in this world.

Wednesday, November 1st, is “All Saints Day,” which is a Holy Day of Obligation. This is the day that the

church acknowledges all who have reached their eternal reward in heaven because they kept the faith

even to the point of sacrificing their life for the sake of the Gospel.

On Thursday, November 2nd, we celebrate “All Souls Day,” which is the day that we remember all who have died. These include our loved ones who have gone before us. They are our personal examples of faith and although we miss them greatly, we pray that with their continued prayers we will see them

again in our eternal life in heaven. On Saturday, November 4th, at the 9AM Mass, we will remember, in a special way, all of our parish family members who have died in this past year.

We will have a reception after the Mass so that we may continue to share their stories. Throughout the

month of November, we will remember all of our loved ones at the 7AM Mass. You may include the names of your loved ones in these Masses by filling

out an “All Souls” envelope and placing it in the collection basket or bringing it to the parish office.

Please DO NOT put them in the basket by the Altar. For your convenience, “All Souls” envelopes

are provided around the Church. Father George

Mass is also celebrated at the Diocese of Orange Catholic Cemeteries on All Souls Day at 10AM as follows:

Good Shepherd Cemetery 8301 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach

with Rev. Quang Vinh Chu

Holy Sepulcher Cemetery 7845 Santiago Canyon Rd., Orange

with Most Rev. Kevin W. Vann

Ascension Cemetery 24754 Trabuco Rd., Lake Forest
