SUNDAY OF FORGIVENESS: So begins our Great & Holy Fast! We prepare for the Resurrection!

At the end of Liturgy today, we will participate in perhaps the most humbling tradition we undergo as Orthodox Christians as we take our first steps into the Lenten Season. Everyone will line up to ask forgiveness from one another. No one can be excused from doing this, simply embracing one another and

asking forgiveness for any faults we have done wrong, whether we knew about them or whether we did not. While we are prescribed to fast from meat during the entire fasting season and without dairy on Wednesdays and Fridays, minimally, none of these fasting efforts will serve us well if we forget this important step of asking forgiveness from our brothers and sisters, our fathers and our mothers. May the Holy Spirit fill our hearts and our minds, giving us the spiritual strength to reach the Resurrection!

COFFEE HOUR We want to thank Team Slovakia/Poland for hosting coffee hour today. All are invited to join us downstairs! NEXT WEEK: Due to today’s Jr. ACRY Bingo event, the HIGH SCHOOL STUDIES CLASS has been moved to next week after Liturgy. BIBLE STUDY Before Liturgy, 9:15-9:45 AM Fr. William is leading a study of the Holy Scriptures during the Lenten Season. We will spend time familiarizing ourselves with the Scriptures and reflect on images of Christ in the Old Testament. If you are interested in attending, please bring with you any note-taking materials you wish to use and a personal copy of the Holy Scriptures. PROCESSION WITH ICONS All are asked to bring a personal icon to Church with them next week for Orthodoxy Sunday! At the beginning of Divine Liturgy, all youth will gather together and process around the Church together with their icons in celebration of this blessed day. If you have an icon of your patron saint, or an icon of Christ or the Blessed Mother that you especially treasure, these are great examples of icons you can bring with you to Liturgy. COME EARLY! THANK YOU to all of those who

brought their personal candles to be blessed after

last Sunday’s Liturgy, in honor of the Feast of the

Presentation of the Lord!
