30 Hours Nursery Provision at St Michael’s Academy Detailed Information, Conditions and Agreement

Following consultation with parents/carers, Governors and the Local Authority, a number of 30 hours contracts are available at St Michael’s Catholic Primary Nursery. Children registered for 30 hour provision will attend the following hours each week;

* Monday- Friday 8:45am – 3:30pm *

St Michael’s Academy is not able to agree individualised weekly or daily attendance and collection times.

Free Places (for those eligible)A voucher code needs to be provided for academy staff to check that the government will fund that place. A registration form (sent in the offer pack) must be completed before an offer of a place is given in writing. Voucher codes can be obtained from www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/free-childcare-and-education-for-2-to-4-year-olds

St Michael’s 30 hour provision offer:30 hours free nursery entitlement comprises of 5 morning nursery sessions, 8.45 am – 11.45 am and 5 afternoon sessions 12.30 pm – 3.30 pm.

Children’s lunchtime (11.45- 12.30) is not covered by the free 30 hour entitlement and therefore will be charged at £3 per day / £15 per week.

Places will be offered to pupils on our nursery list. Places will be allocated to families qualifying for 30 hours funding first, upon proof of eligibility. The maximum number of Nursery places in any session is 26 pupils. Two qualified EYS staff are employed for each session.

A minimum of four weeks’ notice must be given to cease the place once parents have signed the registration form and accepted the place. Failure to do this will result in four weeks’ fees being charged.

Parents will be asked to complete a registration form which acts as a Contractual Agreement.

Lunchtime arrangementsChildren accessing the 30 hours provision will need to bring a sensible, healthy packed lunch from home. They will have lunchtime between 11:45-12:30 pm before the start of the afternoon nursery session (12.30-3.30). There is a daily charge of £3 for this.Academy staff will supervise the children during lunchtimes. Parents will need to ensure that lunchtime fees of £60 - £75 are paid monthly in advance, this can be done using our cash – free Parent Pay system, please ask for a login for this online payment system.

Paid Places (For those only eligible for 15 hours free) St Michael’s can also offer 15 free hours nursery provision and parents pay for an additional 15 additional hours each week. This is for families who are not eligible for 30 hour government funding. The charge for the additional 15 hours is £60/week (the equivalent of £4.00 per hour). The total weekly cost per child will be £75 to include lunchtime provision (as above).

Half termly payments are also available. Should a parent require more regular payment options they are invited to speak with the Principal directly. The charge for the additional 15 hours is £60/week (the equivalent of £4.00 per hour).The charges must be paid monthly in advance, by the 7th of the month.

All payments must be made by Parent Pay. No payment shall be deemed to have been made until it is cleared into our bank account. If a payment fails, we may charge an administration fee of up to £30.

Sessions missed Refunds will not be given for any non-attendance due to holidays or illness.

Eligibility

You can usually get 30 hours free childcare if you (and your partner, if you have one) are:

in work - or getting parental leave, sick leave or annual leave each earning at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week - this is £120 if you’re

over 25

This earnings limit doesn’t apply if you’re self-employed and started your business less than 12 months ago.

You’re not eligible if:

your child doesn’t usually live with you the child is your foster child either you or your partner has a taxable income over £100,000

You can get 30 hours free childcare at the same time as claiming Universal Credit, tax credits or childcare vouchers.If you can’t work, you may still be eligible if your partner is working, and you get Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance, Carer’s Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance.

You’ll need your details (and your partner’s, if you have one), including your:

National Insurance number Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR), if you’re self-employedIt takes 20 minutes to apply. You may find out if you’re eligible straight away, but it can take up to 7 days.

You’ll get a childcare account if your application is successful. You can use it to get your code for 30 hours free childcare.

If you pay for childcare and want to use Tax-Free Childcare to get help with costs, you can also apply using this service.

Apply now to get a code to use for the term starting in January. You must apply by 31 December 2017.
