    U12s Earn

    Medals

    Val Butterlys U12 team lost

    only one match all season

    and topped the table!

    The squad memebers

    received medals from Val at

    the year-end party held at

    the GAA Club.

    Well done Girls!!

2012/2013 Season RecapOver 70 girls participated in 5 teams

    The club experienced another

    successful year as our

    membership increased to 75

    players. These young ladies

    participated in teams ranging

    from Under 12 through Under

17 all in the Dublin Ladies

    Basketball Board Junior

    League. Most of our squads

    were competitive and all

    made great strides in

    developing their playing

    ability and fitness as the

    season progressed. Special

mention is given to the U12

    squad who topped their table

    (see side story) and Denise

    Morans U15 squad which

ended up with a top four

finish in a very tough division.

    While everyone loves a

    winner, participation, skill

    development and fun is really

    what the juvenile program at

the club is all about and on

that score we did the business.

The club would like to thank

the coaches, adult volunteersand the Parents who all

    contributed to making this

    year a success.

VolunteersDont be shy, we can use the help

    With 75 juvenile players, the

club is now near capacity in

    terms of coaching and court

    time. We will attempt to

    accommodate interested new

comers, but will not be adding

any new teams for next season.

    With our core coaching

    capacity taken up, we are

    looking for volunteers to help

    with score table, referee and

    coaching. The club will

    sponsor volunteers who take

    Basketball Ireland courses in

all of the above. If anyone is

    interested please contact us.

    Club renews

    rental

    arrangement wit

    St Maurs GAA

    The club has secured the

    necessary court time for

    training and matches for its

    teams for the 2013/2014 seaso

    through an agreement reache

    with St Maurs GAA.

    The agreement moves the clu

from a pay as you go rental

arrangement to a fixedtime/fixed fee deal that makes

    fiscal management for both

sides a bit easier and allows t

    club some stability in setting

    its schedule.

    One new feature in the

    agreement is the provision of

court time for juvenile homematches on Sunday mornings

from 10 to 2. This will allow

us to secure regular and less

    costly referee coverage.

As part of the deal, we will

have agreed to setup chairs an

tables for bingo in the hall aft

the last match on Sunday. W

    will be looking for volunteers

form a rota to help the club

    meet this commitment. Please

speak to the coaches of your

childs team if you are willing

    to lend a hand.

training session. Membership can be paid in

September and the 2nd due 31 January 2014

Please note, this fee arrangement will allow us

to stop the weekly collection of 2 per player at

training and will allow us to ensure proper

funding is in place to meet our operating

expenditures which include items such as

court rental, insurance, BBI and DLBB fees, referee and official fees.
