W OCATIONS SUNDAY: Today – Good Shepherd Sunday - is the World Day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Life. We will be taking our annual retiring collection for the Priests’ Training Fund. Just to remind you that it costs £50 a day to train a priest. Our Diocese has five students undergoing training at the moment. We pray for them each week and we should always be praying for new potential priests for our diocese. Perhaps we need to look and encourage our families to start listening to what God may be calling them to be! V ADRE PIO PRAYER GROUP – this coming Tuesday, 1 st May at 7.30 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Everyone is welcome to join us for an hour of reflective prayer and the Rosary. P .K. CAKE-BAKE: Next weekend there is another Cake Stall in aid of Multiple Sclerosis . We are joining with U.K. Cake-Bake to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis – which affects 100,000 men, women and children across the U.K. Any contributions for the cake stall next week would be gratefully received. COMMUNION . Due to the low numbers throughout the diocese, this has now been cancelled. If you would like to be a Minister of Holy Communion or Minister of the Word, please discuss this further with Canon Gerard. We are always looking for new people to help in our community.

IS IT OF PAPAL NUNCIO : On Saturday, 26th

May at 12 noon Archbishop Antonio Mennini will be visiting our Cathedral to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cathedral’s opening. He is the Pope’s representative for the U.K. and as such it would be up to us to make a good impression.

ORE HELPERS NEEDED ! More helpers needed for the cleaning of our Cathedral. We have

a happy group of excellent people coming in to clean on a Wednesday, but I would like to start sharing that load with more volunteers, not necessarily on a Wednesday – please see Canon Gerard if you can help.

ORE WELCOMERS AT OUR MASSES : I would like to get a rota together. It really means a

lot to people when they come to Church and somebody wishes them good morning. If you could offer to help, please see Canon Gerard.
