Pastor’s Corner!We may find it surprising, but there are religions that believe in Jesus, but do not recognize the Holy Trinity. The Judeo-Christian God has always been the one God in three “persons.” This solemnity of the Trinity reflects a powerful truth of faith;
just because we cannot fully explain or comprehend something does not make it false or a myth—just a mystery. The word “Trinity” does not appear in scripture, though all three persons are identified in it. The early Church Father, Tertullian, was the first to use the term, more than a century after Je-sus rose from the dead. His work and that of others who followed, such as St. Augustine, gave us a theo-logical language and understanding of what was originally revealed in scripture. We stand on the firm foundations of two pillars: Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. These two pillars make pre-sent and preserve the purity of the faith, helping us grow in our understanding of it. Speaking of growth in understanding of our faith, the “Men’s Welcome Retreat” was a great suc-cess last weekend. I would like to congratulate the candidates and Team members for all their efforts this past weekend. In know God will bless you for your efforts. In addition, I want to congratulate our new Pastoral Council Members whose names were chosen “from the hat” at Masses this past weekend: Jim Sturm, Laurie Brady, Jon Christen, and Paul D’Orlando…as well as our two “alternates:” Roger Nicol and Antonio Parisi. Next Weekend is the Feast of Corpus Christi and I ask for your participation in our first annual outdoor procession! At the conclusion of the 11 am Mass I will offer a brief Benediction and we will process with the Blessed Sacrament around the church building. After the procession, we will offer the Divine Mercy Chaplet in church for those who can stay. Although we will have many of our parish liturgical ministries involved in this procession, I am counting on our congregation to join in this prayerful and joyful experience of the real presence of Jesus among us! Finally, I have to beg---once again---for donations for our Lawn Fete:
Attic Treasures items, bottles of wine,
and plants from your garden! See you in church!

Lawn Fete “Outdoor Mass” !!!! Change This Year!
This year we are trying something a little different. We want Sunday to be our “Parish Day.” On Friday and Saturday we have many guests at the Lawn Fete, but we want Sunday to be a special day just for our parish family to enjoy. The “Outdoor Mass” ---which in the past was held on Saturday 4:30 vigil---will be held on Sunday at 11 am under the big tent! All parishion-ers are encouraged to attend this Mass on Sunday morning. There are some chairs available, but bring a lawn chair just in case. The choir will be there so bring the kids for this joyful celebration. There is plenty of parking and afterward, Chicken dinners are available as well as all the other regular activities of the Lawn Fete, including a special ride discount for the kids. Please help us make Sunday our “Parish Day” this year!

Did You Know?!
!The culture of selfishness and individualism that often pre-vails in our society is not what builds up and leads to a more habitable world: rather it is the
culture of solidarity that does so. We must never allow the throwaway culture to enter our hearts, because we are brothers and sisters. No one is dis-posable. I would like us all to make the serious commitment to respect and care for creation, to pay attention to every person, to combat the cul-ture of waste and of throwing out so as to foster a culture of solidarity and encounter. ! (Pope Francis’ address, 2013)!
! RespectLife!!
This weekend is a time for remembering that thou-sands Americans made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we have. Let’s honor their heroism by
not taking for granted our privileges. We need to be responsible citizens, vote and speak out to right the wrongs in our society. These are the responsibilities put upon us as benefactors of free-dom. This is the fitting way we can show appreci-ation for legacy they left us, as we pray they Rest in Peace.

Prayer Meeting!
Thursday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. is the next
Prayer Meeting . Come experience the power
of the Holy Spirit as we pray, sing, and
give glory!!
!Leaving items by the bulletin board
Please do not leave items on the counter by the doors of the church in the Gathering Space. If you have religious items that you wish for us to dispose of please drop them by the office during regular business hours. You may also
drop things off at the Sacristy of the church on Saturday or Sunday before or after Masses. Thank you for your consideration.!
!
Outdoor Procession!
On Sunday, June 3, after the
11:00 a.m. Mass concludes, we
will have a traditional proces-
sion to celebrate Corpus Chris-
ti. Please join us for song and
prayer as we walk the perimeter
of the church. The feast of Cor-
pus Christi is one time when our
Lord in the Blessed Sacrament is exposed not
just to faithful Catholics but to all the world.
This is a time when Catholics can show their
love for Christ in the Real Presence by honor-
ing Him in a very public way. It is also a won-
derful way in which we can show our love for
our neighbors by bringing Our Lord and Savior
closer to them. So many conversions are a re-
sult of Eucharistic Adoration experienced from
inside the Church. How many more there
would be if we could reach those who only
drive by the church in worldly pursuits.
