BATLEY FOOD BANK - Every week we pass on your kind food donations to Batley Food Bank and just before Christmas we handed over an anonymous donation of £100 along with the donations following the St. John Fisher Carol service. This week we received a letter from them: “I am writing to thank you for the generous donation which you made to us just before Christmas. Your donation has helped to make Christmas more manageable for many local people, from homeless single people to families struggling on low incomes. It has also set us up for the new year. We are an entirely voluntary organisation, and donations are essential to help us to continue to make up the food parcels that we give out all year round. We could not do it without you, so thank you on behalf of the Trustees, volunteers and our service users.”

All are welcome to come along to this inspiring day with John Bell of the Iona commu-nity, who comments “Where people seldom sense the power of scripture and song in their liturgical life as it re-flects or responds to the realities of lived life, we need to recapture the sight of a God who so loves the world that in Jesus he becomes part of its mirth, mess, and madness.” This day has been organised by the J&P Commission. There is no charge for going along (collection taken) BUT please book a place by following the link on their website ( www.leedsjp.org.uk ) or emailing [email protected] .
