If you sew, knit, or crochet, please consider donating aprons, ta-ble runners, hats, mittens, scarves and/or slippers to the Craft Table. For more information, call Rose Lemay at 330-0492. We are now accepting bottles of spirits and/or gift cards for the liquor store for the Baskets of Cheer. Thank you for all your donations and help which make our Christmas Fair a success!

THIS WEEK’S GOSPEL The Pharisees approached Jesus and asked, “Is it law-ful for a husband to divorce his wife?” They were testing him. He said to them in reply, “What did Moses command you?” They replied, “Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of divorce and dismiss her.” But Jesus told them, “Because of the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this commandment. But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate.” In the house the disciples again questioned Jesus about this. He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her; and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.” And people were bringing children to him that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, who-ever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.” Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them. Mark 10:2-16

Children love Jesus. Children love to hear about Jesus.

THE PASTOR’S PONDERANCES

Jesus makes it crystal clear how marriage is designed and is supposed to work. Marriage, an institution within itself, is unmistakably expressed as “one time around,” to-tal faithful commitment of a man and a woman that bears fruit through the bearing of children. God is great!!! Fr. Daniel

SR. LUCIE SAYS

How wonderful as we unite ourselves with

the Holy Father Pope Francis and for the thou-

sands who participated in the Synod of the

Family. The Gospel of Mark points out “from

the beginning of creation, God made them

male and female . For this reason a man shall

leave his father and mother and be joined to

his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

The speaker for the opening address of the

Synod was Bishop Robert Barron, whom some

of us are acquainted with through Bible

Study. He urged us all to be like Jesus—priest,

prophet and king. All who are baptized in

Christ share in the three-fold office as priest,

prophet and king. Priest—to praise and to for-

give. Prophet—to proclaim God’s truth and to

evangelize. King—to govern ourselves, our

family and the community according to God’s

will.
