SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

PRAYER

My Jesus, I believe that you are present

in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you

above all things and I desire to receive

you in my soul. Since I cannot at this

moment receive you sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart. I

embrace you as if you were already

there and unite myself wholly to you.

Never permit me to be separated from

you Amen.

RESPONSE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Archbishop Vigneron has announced the gradual re-

turn to Mass for all Parishes beginning May 19th.

All other events have been suspended at the directive

of the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Governor’s

“Shelter in Place.”

The parish office is closed until further notice. How-

ever, the voicemail and the email are checked on a reg-

ular basis so please feel free to leave a message.

The church is open for personal prayer every Tuesday

and Thursday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm and every

Sunday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Please remem-

ber to practice social distancing.

Our parish continues to need your support in order to

pay our bills and maintain the parish buildings. We

ask that, to the best of your ability, you continue to

make your weekly offertory donations, either by mail

or, if you are coming to church for private prayer or

for Mass, you can drop your envelope in the basket

that is provided for this purpose in the church.

Is God calling you to a ministry? Perhaps this fits your God given gifts!

Christian Service Chairperson and Co-

Chairperson Vacancy

These 2 volunteer positions are waiting for someone to lead in

this most rewarding community service commission. Currently

we have 12-15 friendly and helpful members that come together

and respond to a variety of needs within and beyond our parish

boundaries. There are several programs and activities planned to

serve the needs of the less fortunate in our community. Our pa-

rishioners are invited to participate in many of our events. This is

how we get to know the people we pray with. As Chair/Co-

Chairpersons, you would set the day and time for your monthly

meetings.

Some of our activities are:

Baking-for fundraising, for funeral luncheons special luncheons

and dinners, etc…

Ethnic Dinners-held several times a year invite people to help

prepare meals and provide information about their culture and

traditions.

Baby Shower- collect baby items for Compassion Pregnancy &

Birthright.

Parish Giving Tree- for Christmas we make tags for all parish-

ioners to take and return with their gifts

Food Pantry-we monitor and collect non-perishable items for our

pantry.

Garden Club- give help to the group that plants and maintains

gardens on our Church grounds.

MCREST- help area Churches when they host the homeless in

Macomb County twice a year.

Take the time to Pray and ask God “Is it I Lord?”

Please call Karen at 586-588-5762 if you are interested or would

like to know more about these 2 leadership roles in your par-

ish…….

our time. However, a little TLC does make a huge

difference in the appearance of our overall land-

scape. Cindy Malburg is the coordinator. Her

phone number is 248-670-1160, if she is not availa-

ble when you call please leave your name and best number to reach you.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHTS The Scripture passages from the Prophet Isaiah,

Psalm 65, and St. Matthew’s Gospel all note the

bountiful good that grows from seed planted in

fertile soil. In the expanded Gospel, the evangelist

explains the end of the parable, quoting Jesus to

His disciples: But the seed sown on rich soil is the

one who hears the word and understands it, who

indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or

thirtyfold. Some believe this “seed” is the Word of

God. God, the Father, bestows His grace on all of

us, but not all accept the grace of His revealed

Word and put it into practice. St. Paul, in his Let-

ter to the Roman community, reminds us: we have

the firstfruits of the Spirit. To help Catholics dis-

cover and live according to the Word, all recent

popes have encouraged us to read the Bible.

Christian disciples who make time daily to read or

pray Scripture find true peace and joy through

their encounters with the personal Jesus in the

written Word. Begin this practice with just a few

verses a day.
