MISSION STATEMENT
We, the people of St Mary Help of
Christians Parish, are called to love and
serve the Lord through our lives.
Established in 1856, the church is the
cornerstone around which we have built our community of
faith.
We encourage all to participate through worship, education, and sharing of their
gifts and talents.
With the strength of our families, the
optimism of our youth, and the wisdom of our seniors, we strive to be
advocates of the “Good News”
as we continue to grow and change.

Because the bishops of Minnesota are meeting with the governor as I write this, I cannot give any accurate predictions about what this week will look like. Let me take the opportunity, then, to thank you all for your continued generosity to the parish in what I know are challenging times. Know of my prayers for all of you, and please be attentive to the inserts in this bulletin which are likely to have the most current information about what opportunities for prayer and worship will be available at St. Mary Help of Christians this week.
Sincerely in Christ, Fr. Matthew Crane

ACT OF
SPIRITUAL
COMMUNION My Jesus, I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy
sacrament, I love You above
all things, and I desire to
receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this
moment receive You
sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were
already there and unite
myself wholly to You. Never
permit me to be separated
from You.
Amen

May 24, 2020▲ The Ascension of the Lord 3
Greetings from SMHOCS, Though it is not the typical pomp and circumstance that we are accustom to, we are still commemorating our official last day of school. There will be a ringing of the bell at
2:35 on May 29th (which was supposed to be our last day). We will honor our 6th graders and graduating families with a special send off in the north parking lot. We would like to extend an invitation to our school and parish community. If you are able, please join us in the parking lot on the 29th beginning at 2:25. We will make sure that 6th grade families have priority parking close to the school building. To keep everyone safe, we ask you to follow these guidelines: Families will need to stay in their vehicle with their immediate family members. Grandparents or other guests may join, but will need
to park further back in the lot. We will record the bell ringing and send it to
families. Kelly Kirks, Principal
Heavenly Father, Surround those who are graduating with your
grace. Bless them with hope so that they Move into the future with eager and open
hearts. Help them to put the knowledge, skills and insights gained through their education to
use for the good of all humankind. Inspire them to believe in the goodness of life even when faced with challenges and difficulties. As they commence with their lives, may they grow ever more grateful and wise. All of this
we ask in the name of Jesus, your beloved son. Amen
Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2020!

This week we wish to acknowledge: Augusta Auto Body, C.A.R.S., and Granite City Rolloff LLC. Thank you for your support!
Bishop’s Annual Appeal: We receive many prayer intentions from the diocesan faith community. All are carefully preserved and prayed over by Bishop Kettler, diocesan staff and the sisters at Saint Clare’s Monastery in Sauk Rapids. Please know that whether or not you are able to send a gift, your requests for prayer are welcome.
From the Mission Office: With sincere Thanks’ to all who donated to the Catholic Relief Services Collection and to the Rice Bowl program in this challenging time. CRS operates on a grassroots level in over 100 countries around the world and donations like yours continue to make this possible. This is the primary outreach of the Catholic Church in the United States to assist with the global needs of our brothers and sisters in faith. You also contribute towards local hunger relief with 25% of the Rice Bowl funds being distributed throughout our diocese to organizations like area food shelves which are seeing increasing needs during this time. On behalf of those who benefit from your kindness and generosity, we offer our heartfelt THANKS and gratitude!
