Benny to our Parish here at Sts. Peter and Paul on this Saturday, September 16th, following the 4 p.m. Mass. This is sponsored by St. Marys Council. Benefit Supper for Rev. Wenceslaus Katanga on this Saturday, September 16th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Zeeland City Hall. Everyone is welcome to come, and if you want to bring a dish to share with everyone, you are more than welcome to do so. This will be a free will offering which will be used to help with his medical expenses. This weekend is Catechetical Sunday,when we recognize those who serve our community as catechists.Catechists are those who teach in our religious education programs. These men and women donate many hours of their time during the year to share the Catholic faith with our young people. Please thank them for their service. The Strasburg and Hague catechists are: Kindergarten—Deloris Wikenheiser; Grade 2Kathy Nagel; Grade 3—Kellie Wikenheiser; Grade 5—Barb Ternes; Grade 6—Leona Huber; Grade 7—Carrie Heidrich; Grade 8 & 9—Lisa Hulm; Sub-teachers—Amanda Baumgartner, Shelley Schaefbauer, and Jolene Silvernagel. St. Michael catechists are: Jacey Rolli, Janet Engelhart, Charles Weigel, Rosie Vetter, and Danielle Weigel. St. Michael s CCD will start on Wednesday, October 4th, from 7:15 p.m. till 8:45 p.m. at the St. Michaels Rectory. St. Anthony Catholic Church in Linton, will be holding their annual Fall Festival today, Sunday, Sept. 17th at the Linton KC Hall. Doors will open at 3:45 p.m. and serving will begin at 4 p.m. through 6:45 p.m. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12, and free for 5 and under. The meal will consist of fried chicken, ham, hamburger rice, mashed potatoes, all the trimmings and a variety of desserts. A silent auction will take place throughout the evening. Bingo will be held at the parish center at 5:15 p.m. and the raffle drawing will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the KC Hall. Everyone welcome! St. Marys Church of Hague thanks everyone who made our Fall Supper a success. 565 meals were served. Thanks to everyone who cleaned, donated vegetables or raffle prizes, prepared and worked the supper, and helped with bingo. Thank you to the kids who did an excellent job serving drinks and bussing tables. Lastly, thanks to everyone who supported our church by attending the supper and buying raffle tickets. All was greatly appreciated! Monday, September 18th from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday, September 19th from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Boniface Auditorium (East patient entrance—10th and Rosser). Check out a wide selection of sheet sets, baby blankets, throws, comforter sets and more! Proceeds go toward projects that enhance patient and visitor welfare. V.F.W. Auxiliary meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19th, beginning with supper at 5:30 p.m. and meeting to follow. The District President will be attending this meeting. Please plan to attend. It will be held at the Strasburg Senior Citizens building. Hague Parish and Finance Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19th, at 7 p.m. at the Wilbert and Karen Keller residence. Strasburg Knights of Columbus meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Strasburg rectory. CCD News: We will have a kickoff meeting for those who have been confirmed last year. As Father Jason has said many many times “Being Confirmed does NOT mean graduation from Religion”. On September 20th, parents and students will meet in the Sts. Peter and Paul church basement at 6:30 PM to discuss this year’s plan of action for grades 10, 11 and 12. We will also put together a schedule at this time and all and any ideas are welcome. Father Benny will also instruct the “Safe Environment Training” which is required of all students by the Catholic Diocese. If you have any questions, please contact me or Father Benny at any time. The Annual Catholic Charities North Dakota special collection will be held across parishes in the Bismarck and Fargo dioceses next weekend, September 23-24. A short video presentation will be shown in each parish. Special envelopes and brochures are in the back of our churches for those who feel called to support the good work of Catholic Charities in our state.
