NOTES FROM PAUL...

This week we celebrate the Feast of the
Holy Family. We remember St Mary and
Joseph, who raised and protected our Lord,
Jesus. In today's gospel reading, we read
that this was not an easy task. Besides all of
the work that comes with a child, they also flee to Egypt to
escape King Herod. These are devoted parents, and the
kind of family that we all long to be a part of. Well here is
the catch, if we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, we
too have a place in this Holy Family. Jesus, Mary and
Joseph are all looking out for you and me! We should be
looking out for each other too. If you are hurting or in
need, don't be afraid to ask your Holy Family for help. If
you see a brother or sister who needs help, don't wait for
them to ask, just give them a hand. God bless each one of
you.

Christmas Greetings and Salutations,
Today is the Feast of the Holy Family, of Jesus,
Mary, and Joseph.
In today’s Gospel we hear that after the birth
of Jesus, the angel of the Lord appeared to
Joseph in a dream telling him to take the child
and the mother to the land of Israel. As
Joseph learned Archelaus, son of Herod, was
ruling Israel, Joseph was afraid to go there.
They instead went to Galilee, because Joseph
was warned in a dream, the Holy family went
and dwelt in a town called Nazareth; so the
prophets could be fulfilled, “He shall be called
a Nazorean.”
We know through this
reading that the Holy
Family had great fidelity
to God. They faithfully
followed his command to
flee Egypt and return
after Herod had died. They went to a foreign
country leaving friends, family, and livelihood
behind. In Nazareth, Jesus learned about
virtue, obedience, and holiness from his
parents. The Holy family is an icon of family
life. Life built on Faith, Fidelity and Love.
What are some of your families’ qualities? What
do you have in common with the Holy Family?
Plan a special outing with your family or a fun
day/night indoors.
Have a great week everyone and I wish you all a
happy and healthy 2020!!!
Just for laughs…Where do mistletoe go to
become famous? “Holly”wood. Ahhhhh
hahahahaha
Happy New Year!

Mass 10:00am
Today is the feast of the Holy Family of Jesus,
Mary and Joseph. We hear the words: “The
child grew and became strong, filled with
wisdom; and the favor of God was upon
him.” During this New Year may we also
grow in wisdom and have the favor of God upon us by
remembering to take care of our suffering brothers and
sisters.

In the last fiscal year, through your gifts, the Society of St.
Vincent de Paul at St Mary brought the spirit of Christmas
to those who are suffering, by assisting 97
individuals, with over $25,000 in assistance like food,
utility and rent bills.

The celebration of the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is
intended for anyone who is seriously impaired by sickness, chronic
illness, old age, addictions, or emotional problems and for those who
are about to undergo surgery, serious medical testing or be admitted
to the hospital. You do not need to receive the sacrament every
month, only when your medical condition changes drastically. The Sacrament of

Friday, January 3 beginning with the celebration of the 8:30am Mass.

To make arrangements to celebrate the sacrament at other times, please contact our
