Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Peace of Christ! We have begun the new month, the Month of November dedicated to all souls. In our Creed we pray that Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead and that “His kingdom will have no end.” In the Roman Catholic Church, the month of November is the tradional me to visit the graves of loved ones, as is the anniversary of their deaths. The Church established the month of November for the soul as a perpetual commemoraon in the 10th century, during the Dark Ages. As Catholics we celebrate the birth into eternal life of our beloved dead, the birthright of the Chrisan received. Let us remember to pray for our deceased family members Parishioners and forgoen souls and offer Masses for their souls. Jesus said to St. Fausna about the Divine Mercy for a soul and about confession, “There the greatest miracles take place and are incessantly repeated. It suffices to come with faith to the feet of my representave and to reveal to him one’s misery and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated. Were a soul like a decaying corpse so that from a human standpoint there would be no hope of restoraon and everything would already be lost, it is not so with God. The miracle of Divine Mercy restores that soul in full. When you go to confession, know this, that I myself am waing for you in the confessional; I am only hidden by the priest, but myself act in the soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of Mercy. Tell souls that from this fount of mercy souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great there is no limit to my generosity.” (Diary of Saint Maria Fausna Kowalska (Mass market ver- sion): Divine Mercy in My Soul) May the souls of faithful departed through the Mercy of God rest in peace! Jesus said to St. Faustina about the Divine Mercy for a soul and about confession, “There the greatest miracles take place and are incessantly repeated. It suffices to come with faith to the feet of my representative and to reveal to him one’s misery and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated. Were a soul like a decaying corpse so that from a human standpoint there would be no hope of restoration and everything would already be lost, it is not so with God. The miracle of Divine Mercy restores that soul in full. May the souls of faithful departed through the Mercy of God rest in peace!

November-Its National Vocations Awareness Week! As Catholics, we firmly believe that God has a plan for our lives! He calls some to marriage, some to the priesthood, and others to religious life. Some remain as generous single people. Teach Your Children to Use GPS After Mass today, have a conversation with your children, asking, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” After a few moments of discus-sion, ask, “Who do you think God wants you to be when you grow up?” Emphasize to your children that God has a specific plan in mind for them, and that following God’s plan is the surest way to happiness. Every life decision—which college to attend, whom to date, which job to pursue, whether to enter seminary, whom to marry—should be undertaken only after praying for God’s guidance. In other words, encourage kids to navi-gate life using GPS—God’s Positioning System The example of holy parents is the first condition favorable for the flow-ering of priestly and religious vocations.” – Pope Benedict XVI

Take home a Vocations Table Tent We have purchased 100 table tents for you to take

home. please take one per family.

Table tent sparks family mealtime discussion with

definitions of Catholic vocations on one side, and a

beautiful new “family prayer for vocations” on the

other side.

Gospel Reading Luke 19:1-10 Family Connection Jesus stays at the house of Zacchaeus, the tax collector. In today's Gospel, we see Jesus as a guest in the house of Zacchaeus. Talk about the various ways in which your family prepares when guests are expected in your home. Then read today's Gospel, Luke 19:1-10. Observe that Zacchaeus had not prepared to be Jesus' host that day. And yet, he welcomed Jesus better than anyone else because of his change of heart. Discuss how your family might receive Jesus in your home and how you receive Jesus in the guests that you make welcome in your home. Pray together that your family will welcome guests into your home as you would welcome Jesus.
