Fourth Sunday of Advent:
In the first reading, God promises King David that His house and His kingdom will endure forever. It is through Mary’s “Yes” — “I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done to me as you say.” — that the promise finds fulfill-ment.

BEYOND CANA MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT RETREAT
— JANUARY 27-29, 2012 —
You love your spouse very much. There is no one you would rather spend time with, but over the past few years that time together has been filled with children, job pressures, holiday frenzy and just daily living. Consider this: a quiet weekend in the beautiful Texas Hill Country where you can spend quality time alone with your spouse and revitalize your marriage. You will learn to use effective communication tools in a spiritual, non-threatening setting.
Our Parish will hold a Beyond Cana Marriage Enrichment Retreat, January 27-29, in Boerne, TX.
For more information, or to register for the retreat, please contact Cherie or Frank Mueller at 862-5521 (hers) or 601-2818 (his), or email [email protected]. The Parish Office will also have brochures and registration forms.

YOUNG ADULT ACTS RETREAT
Registration has begun for the upcoming Young Adult ACTS Retreat, Jan. 5-8, 2012. The retreat is open to all young adults, 18 and older. Applications can be found in the Church foyer. For more infor-mation, call Dani at 373-5202 or James at 326-7345.
R.C.I.A. Each Sunday we see the Catechumens and Candidates dismissed from the Liturgy after the Prayers of the Faithful (Intercessions). This dismissal is a powerful symbol, one that challenges the community to reflect on the privilege that is ours; to be able to participate fully in the Liturgy and receive the Eucharist. For the Catechumens and Candidates who have not received their Sacraments of Initiation, the dismissal to BREAK OPEN THE WORD is a formative time to further read and reflect on the Scriptures and the Sunday Homily. As these participants are searching their hearts for a better and stronger faith in Jesus Christ, we ask for the continued support and prayers of our Parish commu-nity for the participants, their sponsors and the RCIA team. This is your important role in their journey of faith. If you are interested in RCIA, please call the Faith Formation Office at 433-2777 ext. 138 or Martin Schott at 521-9079.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
“Your house and kingdom shall endure forever before me (2 Sam 7:16).” The Lord God was speaking to King David, giving him the assurance of a continued pres-ence of God in his life. We too can have the protection and guidance of The Spirit of God. We just need to show our love through the willingness of a total, absolute and unconditional surrender to His Majesty, Lord of Lords and King of Kings, Our Savior Jesus Christ. Our family and home would be protected with his continued pres-ence. Visit Jesus in the Adoration Chapel and be blessed. For questions, call Ken Green at 435-3886.

Did you know that St. Luke has a program available to simplify the process of making donations?
You can now choose to make your monthly regular contributions by having an Automatic Deduction from your bank account on or around the 1st or 15th of each month. If you are interested in donating to the church by Automatic Deduction, or would like to learn more about this option, call the Parish Office at 433-2777 ext. 146 or pick up an Automatic Deduction Form in the Church foyer or the Parish Office. This program is completely voluntary. If you chose to enroll, you can suspend deductions at any time with a phone call or a brief note.
We remain grateful for your donations in whatever form you chose to make them.
SVDP WINTER DONATIONS Our Saint Vincent de Paul is in need of coats, sweaters, warm-ups, jackets (especially jackets for children), blankets, and winter clothes. These items can be dropped off at our St. Vincent de Paul Office, open Monday through Friday, from 10am to 2pm. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
Thanks to the generosity of so many of our p ar ishion ers , over $17,000
has been contributed thus far since Nov. 7, 2011. This is towards our goal of partial sponsorship with St. Matthews Parish for our 2012 Habitat House.
Have you considered using a Habitat contribution as a tax write-off for 2011? Or do you have family or friends you would like to honor with a gift but don’t know what to give? Or would you like to honor a deceased family member or friend with a memorial contribution? If so, please keep in mind the St. Luke 2012 Habitat House. Please pick up an envelope in church office and
send your contribution to the office or in the Sunday collection. Jesus said: “I assure you, as often as you did it for one of my least brothers, you did it for me” (Mt 25 40). “...and I assure you, as often as you neglected to do it to one of these neglected ones, you neglected to do it to me” (Mt 25, 45). Please con-tinue to pray for the success of our 2012 Habitat pro-ject. Please refer any questions or comments to Sue or Homer Fetzer @434-5475.
