The Book Club is Back!

The St Leo Christian Book Club resumes Sunday meetings

September 19

7:00-8:00 PM

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Room.

The fall selection is

The Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton.

This 1925 classic, written in light of Social Darwinism,

influenced the conversion of C.S. Lewis from atheism to

Christianity. In his imitable style, Chesterton argues for

the Christian faith as the path to satisfying both human

intellect and human spirit — the attribute that sets Man

apart from other living creatures. The treatise takes on

evolution, cultural relativism and other modernist notions

that linger with us a century later.

Newcomers welcome!

Before the meeting, please read the Introduction and

Part I, Chapter 1, “The Man in the Cave.”

For more information on the book club, please contact

Mary Riser at 336-817-5976.

“I do not believe that the best way

to produce an outline of history

is to rub out the lines.”
