e proclaim your death, Lord. We sing to you, O Christ, for your glorious resurrection. We have been judged worthy to approach this mystical, ineffable banquet. Let us share, joyfully, in the spiritual gifts here before us; Let us sing with the angels the canticle of victory. Alleluia. The Lord, who abides in the Father’s bosom, is on the cross as well, today; of his own will, he chose to be buried like a mortal man; but on the third day, he rose again and gave us the gift of his great mercy. Early Christian prayer May the faith which we celebrate on this Easter day, a faith that connects us with the Church throughout the world and throughout time, be a source of blessing and joy for each of you and for those that you love. Know that you will remain in my prayer this Easter Season and always. Father Tom Kasputis

Notes from Fr. Tom St. Kieran Parish
Easter Sunday April 5, 2015
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
— Psalm 118:17
Dear Friends, Alleluia! Alleluia! We have journeyed once again through the darkness of Lent and emerged to the joy of Easter. Let’s make certain to let that joy shine through everything we do. This final reflection from, “Let Jesus Lead the Way: Daily Reflections, Practices & Prayers,” by Joseph Sica, and published by Twenty Third Publications, encourages us to “Carpe Diem.”
“Live off your passion”
“He has been raised; he is not here.” Mark 16:6
“A US Airways jet struck a flock of geese during its initial climb, losing engine power and ditching into the Hudson River off midtown Manhattan. Thanks to Captain Sullenberger, all 155 passengers survived. A reporter asked one passenger about his experience. Standing there soaking wet and freezing cold, the passenger glowed. With excitement in his voice, he said, ‘I was alive before, but now I’m really alive.’ “LIFE—it’s an acronym for Live It Fully Everyday. Jesus calls us to do more than just go through the motions. He wants us to snap up life with passion. Grab hold of it and don’t let go! “To recapture passion, start to live your life and own your choices. Do something you enjoy. Nurture your talents. Choose to see the good in people and love them. When life hits hard—stop, adapt, and move on. Sprinkle your life with adventures. If you fail at something, leave it behind and adjust. Don’t put off passionate living. Do it today!”
Happy Easter!

Food Drive Sunday is Coming!!!
The Outreach Committee has designated the fourth Sunday (weekend) of every month as Food Drive Sunday! The shelves of the Catholic Charities Food Pantry at St. Irenaeus Church, which we collectively sponsor, is full of food at the holidays—due to the generosity of our parishioners and the parishioners of our sister churches. However, once the holidays are over, the poor and the needy again go unnoticed. We would like to insure that the wonderful people of St. Kieran Church will have a part in making food available to those in need all year round. Each month, before the last full weekend of the month, a list of needed supplies will be printed in the bulletin and available by the food bin. Our St. Kieran shopping bags will also be available in the food bin for our parishioners to take home and fill, if they have the means. If you can’t fill a bag, please consider bringing a few cans or boxes of food stuffs for the collection. Make sure your donation is here, in the food bin, by the last weekend of the month. Our first Food Drive Sunday will be the weekend of April 25-26, 2015. Please take a shopping bag home to remind you that the Food Drive will take place. We thank you in advance for your continued generosity in reaching out to those who need it most. God bless you all for your efforts on behalf of God’s people!

WHERE DO YOU STAY?” JESUS ANSWRED “COME AND SEE”
The Sisters of Providence of St. Mary-of-the-Woods, IN, extended this invitation to Catholics women (ages 18-42) who are interested in learning more about this community’s ministry, way of life, and unique charism. COME AND SEE...and interact with other women exploring religious life. Interact with women in formation who attend a Come and See weekend and were drawn to join the community of the Sisters of Providence. COME AND SEE...and explore opportunities of personal reflection while enjoying the comfort of sharing with others. Presenters will share their life experiences with you. The campus of St. Mary-of-the-Woods is the home of the beautiful new shrine of St. Mother Theodore Guerin, foundress of the Sisters of Providence 175 years ago.
