6 December 2017 Newsleer No 20 Dear Parents and Guardians Our Praise, Thanksgiving and Graduation Mass today was a wonderful celebration of a very busy year together as we celebrated our achievements of and gave thanks for the many blessings received by all of us. Our Catholic faith is the heart of our School and so it is fitting that our final celebration together is one centred on the Eucharist and our community of faith. As always, our students were reverent participants in the Mass and are a credit to their teachers and their parents. It was lovely to see so many parents, grandparents and friends join us in this celebration! I also thank the many parents, grandparents and friends who were able to attend and enjoy our End of Year Concert on Monday – this too was a wonderful celebration of our year and I congratulate all of the students and particularly Mrs Murray for their fine performances! Sincere thanks to all members of the St Judes teaching team for their commitment and caring and conscientious support to all studentslearning journeys during 2017. We are blessed to have a School team of this calibre and our School community reaps the benefits of the special gifts of each member. I extend all the good wishes and blessings of our school community to our graduang Year Six students! I thank them all for their individual and unique contribuons to our primary school – we will certainly miss you! Year Six Graduaon is a me for celebraon and a me to reflect on the impact faith-based educaon has made on each student, and I hope parents proudly see in their child, a graduate of St. Judes School: a person of faith, formed in the Catholic Faith community, an effecve communicator and a reflecve and creave thinker, a self-directed, responsible, life-long learner, a caring family member and a responsible cizen. And, of course, thank you to our students! They all bring wonderful different talents to our School and today we acknowledged these gifts in our School community. was a wonderful celebration of a very busy year together as we celebrated our achievements of and gave thanks for the many blessings received by all of us. Our Catholic faith is the heart of our School and so it is fitting that our final celebration together is one centred on the Eucharist and our community of

faith. As always, our students were reverent participants in the Mass and are a credit to their teachers and their parents. It was lovely to see so many parents, grandparents and friends join us in this celebration!

I extend all the good wishes and blessings of our school community to our graduating Year Six students! After twelve years here at St Jude’s School, I would like to finish by noting: “Parents, guardians, grandparents and friends - it has been my pleasure getting to know not only your child, but you as well. It has been my pleasure and privilege to be involved in your lives and your children’s learning and development. Having parental support and open lines of communication is an essential part of any successful school year. Thank you for all you have done to make this year so fulfilling and memorable and to make my years at St Jude’s so fulfilling and memorable.

To staff members and students – thank you for the wonderful work we have done together over twelve years, for the amazing events and achievements and the wonderful memories we share. Thank you for a wonderful 2017 and the many ways you have acknowledged me, thanked me and spoilt me! I wish you all God’s blessings for the future!

Enjoy the holidays everyone and may the peace and joy of the Christmas season remain with you through the coming year and always.

Don’t forget school begins Wednesday 31 January 2018.

God bless Lyn Stone, Principal

A Christmas Prayer

Father of love and mercy, we thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to us.

As we get ready to celebrate the holy feast of Christmas, help us to share love with others.

May we live the spirit of the Christmas season each day through the year.

Help us to live always in hope and joy because of all You have done for us.

May we always remember that Jesus Christ is the true gift of Christmas.

We pray this through the Holy Spirit who guides our hearts and our lives. Amen.
