OUR PRAYERS FOR OTHERS: Hold in your prayers all those who are on our prayer chain. If you have permission and wish to put a friend or loved one on the email prayer chain, or are interested in praying as part of our prayer chain, please contact Jackie Rose at [email protected] or (614) 595-7633. If you would also like to have a name listed in our church bulletin for prayers, please notify us at [email protected] or call 477-2549, ext. 300.

ATTENTION: BEWARE SCAMS IN THE DIOCESE: During the past few months, there were a series of phony emails being sent to unsuspecting persons (clergy, teachers, parishioners, others) from alleged priests, Knights, officers of the Dioceses – including a phony one from Bishop Campbell – requesting funds to purchase iTunes and other gift cards for alleged charitable and pastoral reasons.

Now there is a new scam – using text messages to convey similar requests. If you receive any kind of communication/solicitation, please contact the individual at their parish office, school, or other “real” telephone number to verify the authenticity of the solicitation or, at least to notify the person that a scam is underway using their identity.

PALM SUNDAY STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be held in the church at 1:15 p.m. on April 14. Everyone is invited to attend.

EASTER FLOWER ENVELOPES are due by Friday, April 12. If you still wish to remember loved ones with a gift of Easter Flowers, please return the envelope to the office by Friday. If it is after hours, you may leave the envelope in the drop box to the left of the Parish Center entryway.

BISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL AWARDS Father Ted was accompanied by Dick Fullen and John Raterman to the 2019 Bishop’s Annual Appeal Kick-off Dinner at St. Peter’s in Chillicothe on March 18, 2019. Dick and John received Papal Blessings, presented by Bishop Campbell. Dick has worked on the BAA for 50 years and John for 40 years. Thank you both for your service on this important appeal!

PARISH SEDER MEAL: The Seder Meal traditionally marks the beginning of Passover, the remembrance of Israel’s flight from Egypt. It is called Passover because, by the sprinkling of the blood of the lamb, the Destroyer of the firstborn would pass over the houses of Moses and his people sparing them. The Seder was celebrated annually from that point forward by the Jewish faithful. Jesus, being a faithful Jew, celebrated Passover every year in Jerusalem. He used His final Seder Meal as an opportunity to teach His disciples and institute the Eucharist which He wants His Church to celebrate until His return. Our Seder Meal will show how both of the ancient meals, so similar yet so different, relate to each other and how we participate in the story at each and every celebration of the Eucharist. Join us April 17th (Wednesday of Holy Week), at 6:00 p.m. in the Church Hall for a Seder Meal celebrating both our Jewish Roots and our Christian Traditions. Please use the slip below to RSVP by Wednesday, April 10th, and place in the collection basket; or call or e-mail the church office with the same information. You must RSVP in order to participate.

Individuals who have been nominated and agree to possible membership will be invited to Parish Council meetings. Drawing of the names will be held on Pentecost Sunday. MERCY GARDEN Spring is in the air! Plans for the Mercy Garden are underway. Last year, we provided fresh produce to the Emergency Clearinghouse (Pickaway County’s Food Pantry) to residents in need within our community. We are grateful for all the help we received from the Confirmation candidates last season to make this project a reality! Last fall, we also added 3 raised beds to the garden. This spring, we would like to add 3-4 more beds. This will help keep the garden inviting and tidy. We are seeking monetary donations for the purchase of lumber. Please contact the parish office to make a donation.

Stay tuned for a planting date later on in May. We will be requesting plants ready for direct sow. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Sarah Stitt at 740-504-9082. We will need volunteers to help plant as well as to help maintain the garden during the summer. All are welcome!
