Clinicians can earn 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ each time they research a clinical question using UpToDate in CarePATH. The UpToDate link is located in the “Charts Portal” or “MD Dashboard” located on your top horizontal toolbar in CarePATH. UpToDate automatically tracks all earned CME credits. Clinicians can view the potential credits they have earned by selecting the “CME” tab in UpToDate. You can process credits online at any time and there are no additional fees or tests required when submitting credits. No login ID or password is necessary once on the UpToDate main site. However, clinicians must first register with UpToDate to start earning credits. Registration takes less than 2 minutes. For those who are unfamiliar with UpToDate, it is an evidence based search tool used to help answer clinical questions at the point of care. Written by physicians specifically for clinicians, UpToDate contains clinical information, a drug database, drug interactions tool, patient information handouts, medical graphics and much more. For questions or more information please contact UpToDate Customer Service at 1-800-998-6374. Earn CME Credits Using UpToDate in CarePATH As an organization dedicated to providing excellent patient care and promoting strong core values, CHP has adopted the FairWarning privacy reporting system for all regions. FairWarning is auditing software that tracts all patient record interactions to guard against any possible breach in patient privacy. With the FairWarning system, patients and families can rest assured their health information is protected. Every interaction with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) leaves a footprint that can be reviewed by the HMHP compliance officer. Usage patterns are audited and analyzed to identify potential privacy breaches such as snooping, identity theft, and non- compliance issues. Compliance routinely performs random audits of the FairWarning data and can also perform “for cause” audits when a concern over potential privacy issues is raised. It’s important to remember that you should only access a medical record when you have a need to know, you are authorized to know, and it is within the scope of your job responsibilities. You are not permitted to use your system access to review your own health records, those of your family members, or any record that is not within the scope of your job responsibilities. HMHP regards privacy issues very seriously. FairWarning helps HMHP maintain compliance with HITECH and HIPAA privacy regulations and protects patients and health care providers from potential violations. By enacting the FairWarning Privacy reporting system, HMHP is able to enhance patient protection and contribute to best practices for health information protection. If you have any questions or concerns about the FairWarning system, please contact HMHP Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer, Kathy Proper at (330) 480-3366. During the following months, thenursing division will continue work onimproving the patient experience and theefficiency of our patient throughput.Hourly rounding and the I-Carecommunication skills are being utilized toimprove the patient experience. To improvethe efficiency of our patient throughput, roles and responsibilities of the chargenurse are changing, the length of stay aretracked by unit and specific patient LOSissues are being addressed. In addition, other metrics such as the minutes from thetime an admitted patient arrives in ED tothe time they leave the ED are beingtracked. We are beginning to make progresson both the patient experience and patientthroughput.

St. Joseph Cancer Center is proud toannounce the addition of the state-of-the-art Elekta Infinity linear accelerator to itsradiation treatment systems, allowingclinicians to deliver treatments withVolumetric Modulated Arc Therapy(VMAT). VMAT is a significantimprovement to existing advancedradiation therapy techniques, a treatmentsession typically can be conducted in fiveminutes or less, including true 3D imagingat the time and place of treatment. The integrated 3D visualizationcapabilities of Elekta Infinity result inunmatched clinical confidence, enablingmore aggressive treatment of tumors whileminimizing damage to surrounding healthytissue. With Elekta 3D VolumeView™imaging, clinicians can routinely confirmtarget and organ-at-risk positionsimmediately before treatment. This allowsconfirmation of size, shape, and position ofthe target volume compared to plan, as wellas the position of critical adjacentstructures.

As a result, Elekta Infinity deliversmore radiation to the target while sparinghealthy tissue, in significantly less time.Faster treatment times improve patientcomfort, which makes it easier for thepatient to remain still during treatment andincreases the likelihood of deliveringradiation more accurately and safely.

With NewElekta Infinity™,St Joseph CancerCenter Offers theFastest, Most AccurateRadiation TherapyTreatments
