LISTENING SESSION FOR PERSONS WHO ARE DIVORCED
On September 20, 2018 from 6-8:00PM, all those who have experienced a di-vorce are welcomed to attend a listening session at the Blanchette Catholic Center in Crest Hill. Facilitated by Dr.

30th Annual Bishop’s Mass
with Persons with Disabilities to be held on Oct. 8 at Holy Family Parish
The 30th Annual Bishop’s Mass with Persons with Disabilities will be held at noon on Oct. 8 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Avenue, Shorewood. A luncheon, provided by the Joliet Chapter of the Knights, will follow. Persons with disabilities and their families are invited them to attend. Dear Parishioners,
It is with great pleasure that I announce Mr. Zachary Scipione as the new PE Instructor and Athletic Director of Holy Family Catholic School. Mr. Scipione comes to us from Fulton Elementary School in Tinley Park where he served for 6 years as Physical Education teacher. During his tenure he developed a student-centered curriculum for K-5th grade as well as an Early Learning Physical Education Curriculum. He enjoyed collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate content into PE class. In addition to teaching PE, Mr. Scipione served on the Reading Intervention Team, and taught Summer School Reading and Math. He is well versed in student assessment and data analysis and has had a variety of coaching experiences.
Mr. Scipione received a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education from Judson University (where he played colle-giate baseball), a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education, and a Master of Educational Leadership from Concordia University. He is interested in expanding the HFCS Athletic Program and has shared ideas for marketing the school through athletics, developing community partnerships, and using social media to expand our reach. I look forward to the positive impact Mr. Scipione will have on our students, faculty, and community. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Scipione to our school family.
On another note, it is with mixed emotions that I announce the resignation of Mrs. Anita Vardijan, our Licensed School Counselor and Interventionist. Mrs. Vardijan accepted a position at her own parish school, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview. Our loss is certainly their gain. Mrs. Vardijan has served our students and families well with her compre-hensive knowledge and skills, and the love and compassion born of her deep Catholic faith. We will miss her dearly and pray that God continues to bless her in her new endeavor.
In closing, I want to thank all of our families for serving as ambassadors of Holy Family Catholic School. I am thrilled to report that we have enrolled 35 new students for the 2018-2019 school year! Prospective parents continue to call the office every day. Last week I received a letter from Bishop Conlon in which he wrote, “I am very committed to sustain-ing Holy Family School.” We are truly blessed.

Baptisms: Pre-baptism Class is required before your date will be set. Please register two to three months in advance.
Weddings: Spiritual Preparation begins at least SIX months in advance. Do not make your reservations until you have met with the pastor.
Sacrament of the Sick: First Friday of the month at 7:30 am.
Communion Visits: Call the Parish Office.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for adults seeking to learn more about the Cath-olic faith and is available to those individuals who:
are curious to know more about the Catholic faith or know someone who is curious
have never been baptized
have been baptized as Catholic, but never had an oppor-tunity to complete their sacramental experience through Confirmation and/or Eucharist.
have been baptized in another Christian denomination, and would now like to enter into full communion in the Catholic Church.
This is a process of discernment, instruction, prayer and counseling to help seekers on their way. RCIA is for adults at any stage of life who are seeking a closer relationship with God and His faith community. Now may be the right time to inquire if the Catholic faith is the map for the rest of your life’s journey. Our sessions meet on Monday nights in English and Spanish from August to May. Stop by the Faith Formation office or call 630-832-5514.

Este es un proceso de discernimiento, la instrucción, la oración y el asesoramiento para ayudar a los solicitantes en su camino.
