The Fourth Cup – Monday, July 8, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. If you have never listened to Dr. Scot Hahn’s talk on how Jesus connected the Last Supper to His death on the cross, you will definitely want to plan to come to this one-time event. The meeting will conclude with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church.

We will not meet September 1, Labor Day weekend, and class will be moved to 3:00 PM on July 21 after the parish family picnic. The registration and materials cost is $100 per couple. Due to a lack of volunteer support, we are unable to offer childcare for this course.
The Ten Commandments – Sean McVeigh is running an 8-week series on the Ten Commandments beginning July 14. It will be held in the Church Hall every Sundays from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM. Would you being willing to help us out? We are in need of volunteers and drivers to pickup of furniture and other household items a couple of days each week from our generous donors. We are also in need of more volunteers to sort, clean and price the donations received. If interested please call Kyle Flynn at: 365-5091. Thank you!

BUILDING THE CHURCH IN MISSION LAND, USA
The work of the GLENMARY HOME MISSIONERS is the subject of the Mission Awareness presentation at St. Joseph on July 20 - 21. Brother Craig Digmann of the Glenmary Home Missioners will speak at our Masses, telling us about the missionary work his Society is doing in serving the spiritual and material needs of people right here in the United States! This collection for Glenmary Home Missioners marks the annual Mission Awareness presentation promoted by the Archdiocesan Society for the Propagation of the Faith.
Hundreds of U.S. counties do not have a resident priest, and in many of these counties the Catholic Church is not present. That means no celebration of the Eucharist, no sacraments, not even a parish community in which to find fellowship and support. Glenmary Home Missioners are working hard to fill the void—to bring the love of Jesus and His Church to the home missions in Appalachia and the South.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to hear of the Glenmary apostolate in Appalachia and the South and to offer our prayers and financial support for their important ministry in the Church. Please be generous.
Fun Days Results
Financial results and Faith Outreach totals from Fun Days will be published in the bulletin after all invoices have been received and paid. Anticipated publication is July 20.

From Archbishop Jackels--
Thanks to all for prayers for healing. God heard, and responded “yes.”
This week I received a report from the cardiologist that my heart has recovered, and so I
may return to ministry and car-driving.
The doctor would have me follow a diet and exercise regimen, and learn how to deal
appropriately with stress. I am going to need Divine Assistance to carry that out!
I am humbled by the thoughtfulness and generosity that people have shown me. I will do
my best to honor that by making your sacrifices count for something, and to pay it
forward.
God bless your goodness!
Fr. Mark Kwenin’s Farewell—Although he will depart us for his new assignment on
Tuesday, July 9th, we will have a farewell for Fr. Mark next weekend, June 29-30, after each
of the Masses. Please plan to attend to thank him for his ministry and wish him well as he
prepares to assume his new assignment at Holy Spirit Parish in Dubuque.
Out of the Office—I plan to take my last break before Fr. Mark departs on July 9th and we
become a one priest parish. Hence, I will be out of the office from June 27-July 3, 2019.
Faith in Our Future Committee—I am pleased to announce that a parish committee has
been formed to study and implement a capital campaign and building project for
St. Joseph. I have made various references to this in the past, and now it is time to share
with you the members of the committee. They are: Joe and Barb Schmall (committee
co-chairs), Matt and Judy Ramsey, Scot Brown and Julie Lammers, Casey Kettmann, Doug
Brock and I. Assisted by parishioner, Pat O’Connor, the committee is currently
organizing itself and determining the best way to proceed first with a study of the parish
plant to ascertain present and future needs to improve existing structures or to discern
whether new structures need to be built. Their work will be guided by Archdiocesan
policy and learning best practices by other parishes that have conducted a capital
campaign and a building project. The committee will plan to offer periodic updates
regarding their work and invite parishioner input. (First printed June 16th).
