I’m sure that those who came along would agree that it was really useful and informave. For those of you who were not able to aend, we are aaching an informaon sheet with this email. You can also find valuable infor- maon on the Engage E-Safety website - hp://www.engageesafety.com. The children all had online safety workshops last week too, so please do ask them what they have learnt about keeping safe online. Year 3 and 4 had a very excing trip to Cadbury’s World on Friday, learning lots and having lots of fun too. Thank you to all of the staff and parents who accompanied them on the trip. This is what the chil- dren said: ‘I really liked Cadbury’s World because we got our own pot of cocoa liquor (chocolate sauce). We learned about the Mayans and that they used cocoa beans for money ,and how the beans come from Africa and then get shipped to our country and get turned into chocolate bars.’ Noah, Year 4 ‘I really enjoyed Cadbury’s World because they were really nice and there was a lile ride (that was quite slow). You got to see a world of cocoa beans. Half way you got a bar and you also got a sample of liquid and you could get two toppings out of jelly babies, biscuit, crunchie, popping candy and mar- shamallow.’ Alice, Year 4 We have had some sporng success over the last fortnight too. A team of Year 5/6 pupils took part in the Indoor Athlecs Tournament and came second overall! This means they are through to the next round and will compete again - look out for further updates. Well done to all of the children who took part. Our netballers also played a match against Chalgrove School last night and won convincingly, so well done to them also! Our patron of reading, James Carter, has been in school today making non-ficon books with the chil- dren on topics of their own interest. James will be back in next Friday, 9th February, and we would like to invite you to a celebraon assembly led by him at 2.30pm. Please come along if you can. The School Council are currently running a compeon to name some new ‘houses’ or family groups in school. They are looking for four house names which are linked in some way. Once they are up and running, children will then receive house points throughout the week for following our new ‘St John’s Promise’. Please do ask them about this and whether they would like to take part. We are also giving the children an opportunity to take part in an Art Compeon in aid of Cancer Re- search. The children have been told about this and further informaon is being sent home to you to- day. They will be given me to complete the art during school next week. The PTFA are holding an EGM on Monday 26th February at 7pm, this is in order to adopt a new cons- tuon. Further informaon will be sent from the PTFA commiee. Please come along if you can.
