My dear people,
This Thursday evening we begin the Sacred
Triduum with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at
7:00 p.m. During this Mass we celebrate three holy
gifts that Christ bestowed upon his Church: the Holy
Eucharist, the Ministerial Priesthood, and the call
of loving service to others. At the end of the Mass
we are invited to spend time in prayer with our
Eucharistic Lord at an Altar of Repose in the social
hall.
On Good Friday we will pray the Stations of the
Cross at 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m., with the oppor-
tunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation
afterwards. At 7:00 p.m. we will celebrate the Good
Friday Liturgy. During this liturgy we celebrate the
glorious victory of Christ over the cross.
Holy Saturday morning I will offer the opportunity
to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation from
7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Our Easter Vigil will begin at 8:00 p.m. (There is
no 5:00 p.m. Mass next Saturday.) During this liturgy
we witness our new brothers receive the Easter
Sacraments as we all rejoice with them in the victory
of Christ over all sin and evil.
On Easter Sunday we will celebrate with two
Masses at 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. It is my prayer that
you and your family will have a blessed Triduum and
Holy Easter!
Fr. Dan

As we celebrate Palm Sunday of the Lord’s
Passion, we are reminded that Lent is coming to
close and the Resurrection is nearing. In one
week, we will celebrate Easter Sunday. Pray that
the Lord allow you to accompany him serenely
during these Easter mysteries and you may
emerge from them renewed in faith, hope and
charity.
The truth behind the tradition of bearing palms
today goes to the story of Palm Sunday, when the
people heard that Christ was coming and “they
took out palm branches and went out to meet
him and cried out ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who
comes in the name of the Lord, [even] the king of
Israel.’” (John 12:13). It was a tradition to spread
palms before a king as he processed into his city.
It was a way to welcome him, to show him glory
and homage. Thus, Christ, the true King, was wel-
comed into Jerusalem.
A very special thanks to those who offered greetings, gifts and activities making my 91st birthday so SPECIAL!
Love & gratitude, Mary Sorenson

NEW ENTRY DOOR SYSTEM Q
St. John the Apostle has a new programmable door entry system. We now have the ability to program the time a door unlocks or locks. We no longer have to manually unlock and lock our doors. What does this mean for parishioners or parish groups? The NE entry will be where parishioners will enter for weekday Mass or to visit the parish office. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Parishioners may enter from both the SW and NE entries for week-end Masses.
Parish groups or individuals need to schedule their events or meetings with Tim Mineart. Please email Tim at [email protected] or call the office at 981-4855.
Coffee & Donuts
We look forward to resuming coffee and donuts (continental breakfast) after the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sundays. We will need hosts to support and continue this ministry. If you would like to help or want to continue hosting, please contact Alayne in the office.
SoulCore!
SoulCore is offered in the social hall on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is simply an invitation to discover the beauty of the Rosary; a gentle path to grow in virtue and interior peace. Bring exercise mat/towel and light weights (optional).
