Faith Moment Reflection In today's reading from the book of Exodus, we see the Israelites grumbling to Moses about the lack of food in the desert. When God rains down bread from heaven for them to eat, Moses teaches them about God's life-giving generosity. Moses is telling us that God's generosity knows no bounds and He will satisfy our every need. But the nourishment God sends is much more than food to satisfy our immediate hunger. God satisfies our hunger for eternal life. Through Him we find love that leads to true and lasting satisfaction. As Jesus promises, "whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in

me will never thirst." We only need to trust and believe. Today's Faith Moment was provided by Christ the King Seminary. You can listen to Faith Moments on WBEN radio 930 AM, WLOF 101.7 FM, or at www.faithmomentsonline.org.

Foster Care. If you’ve ever thought about being a foster parent, now may be the right time! Catholic Charities provides foster care for children of all ages, racial and ethnic groups in Erie County who cannot safely live in their own homes. Catholic Charities seeks loving, nurturing foster parents to work in partnership with Catholic Charities and birth parents in order to care for the children’s physical, social, emotional, and psychological needs. To learn more about the foster care process, you can attend a brief upcoming information session: August 7 at 10 am and 4 pm; September 11 at 10 am and 6 pm; October 9 at 10 am and 4 pm; November 13 at 10 am and 6 pm; and December 11 at 10 am and 4 pm. For more information or to register, call 716-856-4494, ext. 360

Jesus’s first miracle takes place at the wedding feast of Cana. Jesus changes water into wine – He changes the ordinary into the extraordinary. Every marriage, whether months or 45 plus years, can go from ordinary to extraordinary. For a free packet filled with prayers, articles, and resources to enrich your marriage, contact the Office of Family Life Ministries at 716-847-2210 or email [email protected]. Marriage Moment. “The whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron.” (Exodus 16:2) Sometimes there are plenty of reasons to grumble in marriage – not enough money, something breaks, your spouse forgot to get gas… Let’s call for a grumble free day; or at least if a grumble occurs to you, put it in the perspective of all the blessings of your life together. Parenting Perspective. As older children continue their schooling this fall, it’s tempting to want to pour all your protective wisdom into them, especially around issues of faith. As they age, however, “share your faith struggles, not just your certainty.” SPECIAL COLLECTION next weekend is for the Retired Diocesan Priests’ Medical Benefits Fund
