Are you interested in joining the Catholic
church? Come to today’s inquiry session!
At this time I have no intention of joining the Church but I want
to learn more about Catholicism. Come to an inquiry session, and
get to know some of the ways you can explore your interest.
I know that I want to join the Catholic Church. Where do start? This depends on you and where you are on your faith journey.
If you are fairly new to Catholicism or have limited experience with
the Christian faith, you may find it helpful to continue to explore
Catholicism for a time before preparing to join the Catechumenate
process. Each person’s journey is unique. Come to an inquiry ses-
sion, or several. The spirit meets you in your being, loving and do-
ing. Our next informal, half hour monthly session will be held on
September 9th after the 9:30 am Mass from 10:45-11:15 am.
A sign at the Welcome Desk will direct you to the meeting spot.
Everyone is welcome. Call if you have a question - Brian at 613-233
-4095, x235 or Michèle at 819-770-3342.

Sunday, October 14 from 12-6 pm in the Parish

Our team is currently looking for community
members interested in hosting tables to sell their

ther purchase a table ($50 for a 6’ table or $75 for
an 8’ table) or make a freewill donation from your

Brandon ([email protected]) a proposal with
a brief description of the items you would offer at

Purchasing a Defibrillator—The parish is planning to purchase an Automated External
Defibrillator (AED) to keep on site in case of emergency. The average price for such a device is
roughly $1,500. Due to the large amount of individuals of varying ages that our community serves each
day, having an AED on site would ensure that we are as prepared as possible to react to emergency
situations. If you are able and interested in donating funds towards this purchase, simply write “AED”
on your regular donation envelope or see the Welcome Desk to make a direct donation. If you have any
questions, please contact the Parish Office at 613-233-4095, x221. Thank you for your support!

Retreat Centre
Walk a New Path—Aug. 17-19
Facilitators: Archbishop Emeritus Sylvain
Lavoie, OMI & Michelle Reis-Amores. This
prayerful and thought-provoking retreat based on
Archbishop Sylvain’s book, Walk a New Path,
will offer practical suggestions and skills open-
ing the way to healing life’s hurts and reconcilia-
tion in relationships. We will explore intimacy,
spirituality, and communications in ways that
can make what seems impossible happen. Cost:
$310 (some limited bursaries are available).
Taizé Service—Aug. 19
You are invited to gather in the beauty of a sum-
mer evening for an ecumenical service of song
and contemplative prayer in the tradition of the
Taizé community. Taizé is a “parable of com-
munity” that wants its life to be a sign of recon-
ciliation between divided Christians and between
separated peoples. Cost: Goodwill donations are
welcome.
Rectory Roof Replacement Project
Update Donations received as of August 6:
$13,341
Thank you for your generosity!
After having completed significant work on the church roof,
thanks in large part to parishioner donations, the Parish is
proceeding with a project to completely replace the rectory
roof in August 2018. The rectory roof has reached the end of
its lifespan and leaks have become a growing problem.
Working with our engineering consultants at the BTC Group,
as well as Capital Contractors Ltd., we will be replacing the
entire rectory roof, down to the structural wood deck,
including the roof above the vestry, for a stipulated cost of
$68,000. We are asking parishioners to consider donating to
the rectory roof replacement project, to help us in covering
these costs.
You will find envelopes marked for this purpose in the pews,
with each envelope also including slips for those who wish to
make a donation using their credit card. For more information
on this project, please contact Christopher Adam, the Parish
Executive Director, at [email protected] or at 613-233-
4095, x223. Thank you!
