JANUARY 21/22, 2017 3RD SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME
FOR THE RIDE HOME AND INTO THE WEEK! Our Sunday liturgy does not end when Mass ends, rather it con nues into the week. The ques ons posed here, help us to live the Gospel message all week long, to go in peace to love and serve the Lord. So as we journey the week let us reflect on these ques ons to help us answer God’s call to holiness and discipleship.
Following Jesus Adult: To whom could you speak the gospel of Jesus Christ this week with ac ons rather than words? Child: What could you do for someone this week that would tell them something about Jesus?

LITURGY MINISTRY FAIR - JANUARY 28/29 St. Joan of Arc would like our liturgies, when we gather together each weekend as a larger community, to be the best possible experience of Christ for all of us. Liturgies are the work of all people in a endance in addi on to our Liturgical Ministers. We encourage you to consider serving as a new or returning liturgical minister and share your gi s with our Mass.
Consider one of the following ministries and stop by a er any Mass the weekend of January 28/29 to learn more and become a member. Our Liturgical Ministries: Choir, Environment, Eucharis c Minister, Greeter, Lector, PowerPoint, Sacristan, Server or Usher. Most of these are available for both Daily or Weekend Masses.
LITURGICAL MINISTER COMMISSIONING AND GATHERING February 12 - During all Masses we will commission all minsters who par cipate in any of our Liturgical Ministries. Please NOTE: Because our high school Confirma on will take place at the 5:30 PM Mass on February 11, we will not have any commissioning at that Mass.
February 12 from 1:15 - 3:30 PM: We will have a gathering with a guest speaker, for all new and returning members of Liturgical Ministries in the church. Please mark you calendars!
Dear Parishioners, This weekend is the third and final presenta on in our homily series, “Why we do what we do at Mass.” It is my hope that we will gain a greater understanding and apprecia on for the Sacred Liturgy, as well as further increase our desire to par cipate more fully in our celebra on of the Mass.
The topic for our reflec on this week is the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This part of the Mass begins with the prepara on and offering of the gi s, the Eucharis c Prayer and the Communion Rite. It is during the Liturgy of the Eucharist that our gi s of bread and wine are transformed into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Our partaking of the Holy Eucharist unites us with Christ and the members of his Body, the Church. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God transforms the humble elements of our lives, and empowers us to be Christ for others as Christ is for us.
We gather this weekend to listen a en vely to the Word of God and to be fed by Christ and united with him in Holy Communion. Let us pray that our recep on of his divine gi to us will mo vate and strengthen us to give of our lives to one another with the same generosity that he shows to us.
God bless you! Fr. Ray Sacca

Paul’s le er to the Ephesians reveals many remarkable gi s that we as Chris ans are given in the Church. This le er tells us about the nature of the Church – as a body, as a household, as a mystery, as a communion, as a bride and as an army. It shows us the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters adopted fully into the family of God. It reveals how God’s great love for us can trans-form our daily lives if we allow it. This study will enrich your faith, and show you how to live it out:
Discover what it means to be not just a son or daughter of God, but an heir to all He has to give.
