Movie Night Movie night Sponsored by St. Jerome Adult Scripture Study
group will show the award winning movie, “A Man for all
Seasons” the story of St. Thomas More, on Tuesday
evening August 8th at 6:30 to 8:30 pm in Jordan hall. It’s
really a good movie. All are invited. It’s free and

The Choice Wine: 7 Steps To A Superabundant
Marriage “Christ doesn’t want your marriage just to have
enough….He wants your marriage to be superabundant!” A
nine-session, weekly couple’s program beginning Tuesday,

Pro-Life Waco will host its Second Sunday luncheon/
meeting on August 13 at the parish hall of St. Mary’s
Church in Waco. Rev. Stephen Broden will speak on
“Abortion, Eugenics, and the Black Community.” For

R.C.I.A. Are you interested in becoming or sponsoring a new
member of the Catholic Church? RCIA (Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults) 2017-18 classes will begin Wednesday,
September 6, 2017. Please contact Deacon Rae Carter at

for updates. RCIA meets each week on Wednesday from
6:45 until 9:15 pm from approximately the beginning of the
school year until 4 weeks after Easter.
The Greater Waco Interfaith Conference (GWIC) will hold its annual Festival of Faith presentation
in the St. Teresa Center for Family and Youth on Sunday,
August 13, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm. The theme is “Many
Melodies, One Song – The Music of Faith”. All are invited
and welcome to attend. St. Jerome will be take part in the

The Church of the Assumption in West Their Parish Festival will be on Sunday, August 13 at the
Knights of Columbus Grounds. Fried Chicken/Sausage
Dinner will be served beginning at 11:00am. Everyone is
cordially invited to attend!
Bishop Vasquez’s Reflection Question
Gospel Meditation:
Today, on the Feast of the Transfiguration we are reminded
of Christ’s glory. Each Sunday and every Mass we not only
see and experience the Risen Lord in the Eucharist,
presider, Scriptures and assembly, we are also invited to be
sustained and transformed by him in the celebration and
reception of the Eucharist. What aspect of your journey is
strengthened and transformed by Christ?
Liturgy of the Hours Liturgy of the Hours will now be prayed each morning in
the Ave Maria Chapel. On Wednesdays and Fridays, they
will be prayed before 7:00am Mass. On Mondays, Tues-
days, and Thursdays, they will be prayed at 7:00am in the
Chapel. Dary Santos will lead the prayers. Everyone is
welcome to come.
Eucharistic Adoration First Friday Eucharistic Adoration will not be held in
June, August or August. Next devotion is August 31st –
September 1st.
Weekly Friday Morning Adoration will stop May
19th and resume in September. Call – Bill Leek – 254-716-3416 to join our ministry.
First Friday Rosary We will be saying the Rosary as a community on First
Fridays for the deceased of our families, our parish, and
other intentions. All are invited to participate. Time is
11:30am. Mass follows in the Ave Maria Chapel at
12:15pm.
Eucharistic Ministers Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion may be desig-
nated to distribute Holy Communion at Mass or to bring
Communion to those confined to hospitals, institutions, or
their own homes. You must be E.I.M. compliant. To be
trained, call Peggy Cunningham at 254-859-5685.

Knights of Columbus Council 13005 Thank you to all who participated in the Summer
Blood Drive! It was a huge success!
Upcoming Event: The Knights will be available after all
Masses on the weekends of August 12/13 and 19/20 for
your purchase of a 10-12 lb. smoked brisket, smoked
sausage or whole chicken to be picked up on August
6th from 10:oo am – 12:00 am. Perfect for your Labor Day
celebration. Eat brisket, chicken and sausage and support
the St. Jerome High School Graduate Scholarship Fund.

Visiting the Homebound/Terminally Ill Ministry This ministry brings the Eucharist to parish members who
are homebound/terminally ill and would like to receive the
Eucharist. Please call the office to arrange a visit.
Ethics and Integrity in Ministry All clergy, religious, seminarians and employees, and all
volunteers serving in ministry to minors or the vulnerable,
will need to attend an EIM Workshop.

Family, Faith, and Fun Join us for a special Praise and Worship Adoration
on Friday, August 18th at 6:30pm in the Sanctu-
ary. Sandwiches will be provided in Jordan Hall
at 5:30pm and Adoration will go from 6:30-7:00. This
time will be specially planned with music and guided
prayer to engage even our younger children. Please

Scripture Study and Continuing Adult Education Adult Scripture Study and Continuing Christian Educa-
tion will begin its new season on Tuesday, September
12th and meet on subsequent Tuesdays. We will continue
to do a Lectionary study, examining the Sunday Scrip-
tures and on the 3rd Tuesday of the month we will ex-
plore other informative topics of the Catholic Faith with
video and discussion. Morning group meets in the Annex
from 9:45 to 11:30 am. Evening group meets in Jordan
Hall from 6:15 to 8:15 pm. Materials will be available at
class. All are invited. You don’t have to be a scripture
scholar to attend. We are good folks and it’s good educa-

Formed (The Catholic Faith on Demand) St. Jerome Parish has become a partner in an exciting
24/7 on-line web-based digital formation series called
Formed, produced by the Augustine Institute and Ignatius

Men of St. Jerome (MOSTJ) MOSTJ is moving its monthly World Famous Pancake
Breakfast to the SECOND SUNDAY OF EACH
MONTH. Next breakfast is Sunday August 13 at 9:30
am in Brooks Hall. Two kinds of pancakes, sausage,
scrambled eggs, fruit, biscuits & gravy, chocolate milk,
juice and coffee will be served. People wanting to help

That Man Is You Starting our eighth year this Fall, That Man Is You!
(TMIY) is a men's spirituality program started by
Paradisus Dei. This program consists of watching a video
followed by small group discussion.

12-part video series from Bishop Robert Barron's Pivotal
Players program.
