Dear Parents, St. James the Greater PSR program provides Catholic religious education in a
classroom setting during the school year on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 pm to
8:00 pm for public school students in grades K-6! There will be a parent meeting,
along with our first class for students on Wednesday, September 4 at 6:45 pm.
Everyone will assembly together in the gym that evening. After introducing the
Catechists, your children will go to their classrooms and a brief parent meeting will
help review the year. Teaching the Catholic Faith to our children comes from many
sources within parish life, including Sunday Mass, individual and family prayer and
living a Catholic way of life in the home. As parents, you are the primary teachers of
the Faith to our children and our PSR catechists are blessed and excited to support
your efforts. Registration forms are available in the office now during the week and
registration will be the weekend of August 10/11 after all of the Masses or on-line
registration is available. Please contact us with any questions and pray for our
Catechists as they prepare for this year!
Peace,
Fr. John
Confirmation Announcement St. James the Greater will be preparing 7/8 grades, along with 9/10 grades for the
Sacrament of confirmation. Bishop Kemme is scheduled to come to St. james to
celebration confirmation at the sat8urday Vigil Mass on march 28, 2020.
Father John will be teaching the program, which will consist of two required meetings
with the 7/8 grade students and two required meetings with 10/11 grade (or older)
students. These four meetings (2 for each age group) will take place in the early
spring semester. More details will be forthcoming about the preparation process,
specific dates and for the parent meeting that will take place before the four
sessions with the students to be confirmed.
Subs and Assistance We are in need of having substitutes available to help when needed for PSR
classes. If you would like to be on the sub list, please call the church office.
We also would love to have some more assistance for the Middle School Edge
Program, for organizing people to bring snacks and helping with activities. Thank
you in advance for helping with your time and talent!
