We thank everyone from St. Helen Parish who

has participated in the 2018 Catholic Ministries

Appeal. Our pledges let us impact the stories of

thousands through six important Catholic ministries

right here in our archdiocese.

If you have not yet completed your form,

please do so at your earliest convenience! These vital

ministries supply basic and essential needs that many

of us never have to worry about, so thank you for

whatever you can share with those whose lives have

different challenges than our own.

OUR LENTEN “TAKE-HOME” In addition to copies of the

“Little Black Book” and many other

resources which will be available at

the doors of church beginning

Ash Wednesday, we are offering a St.

Benedict Medal.

As we walk our own journeys

and listen to the readings this Lenten season and hear

of Jesus’s temptation in the desert and God’s cove-

nant with us, let us hold on to this medal, which “is a

prayer of exorcism against Satan, a prayer for

strength in time of temptation, a prayer for peace

among ourselves and among the nations of the world,

a prayer that the Cross of Christ be our light and

guide, a prayer of firm rejection of all that is evil, a

prayer of petition that we may with Christian courage

‘walk in God's ways, with the Gospel as our

guide,’ ” as St. Benedict urges us.

ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24 The Sacrament of the Sick is intended for

those whose health of body, mind and spirit is

impaired by sickness or age. If you feel you have a

need, you are invited to be anointed as we celebrate

this act of God's grace as a community of Christian

believers. Anyone wishing to be anointed is

encouraged to sit toward the front or along the center

aisle so Father can anoint you.

THE LIGHT IS ON FOR YOU –

ENCOUNTER THE PEACE OF CHRIST

DURING THE SEASON OF LENT This Lent, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati will

once again engage in the initiative, The Light Is On

For You. On Tuesday, February 27 from 7:00pm –

cluding St. Helen, will open their doors and provide

the opportunity for private confession. If you have

been reluctant to participate in the Sacrament of Rec-

onciliation, have been away from the Church for

some time, or just find it difficult to get to a regularly

scheduled confession time or communal penance ser-

vice, this is a your chance to experience the reconcil-

ing peace of Christ through the grace of the Sacra-

ment. No stress, just peace! Learn more

at www.EncounterPeace.org.
