March 18, 2018 $4,101.00

INFORMACJE KSIĘDZA PROBOSZCZA Kochani Parafianie i Przyjaciele Kościoła Św. Jadwigi. Ta duma z naszego Kościoła, która poprowadziła Was do udziału w Świętym Tygodniu, niech Was zachęci do przyjmowania Komunii Św. podczas liturgii eucharystycznych. Niech Święty Odkupiciel, nasz Pan Jezus Chrystus, obdarzy Was pokojem i szczęściem, które tylko On może dać. Radosnych Świąt Wielkanocnych i smacznego jajka. Wasz Proboszcz, Ks.Piotr Rev. Msgr. Edward Wawerski, Pastor Emeritus Rev. Marcin Nabożny FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Hedwig’s Church. Easter commemorates the victory of Christ over every worldly evil including sin and death. His resurrection from the dead placed the seal of divinity upon His teachings. That is why at Easter time the Church sings with joy and gladness Alleluia. How proud you should be to profess your faith, to live it; to generously support it and help bring it to others. That pride in your Church will lead you to take part in the Holy Week Services and should prompt you to receive Holy Communion during the Eucharistic ceremonies. May the Holy Redeemer bestow on you that peace and happiness which He alone can give. Your Pastor, Fr. Peter Rev. Msgr. Edward Wawerski, Pastor Emeritus Rev. Marcin Nabozny

Easter. The Easter Vigil is the "Mother of All Vigils."Easter Sunday, then, is the greatest of all Sundays, and Easter Time is the most important of all liturgical times. Easter is the celebration of the Lord's resurrection from the dead, culminating in his Ascension to the Father and sending of the Holy Spirit upon the Church. There are 50 days of Easter from the first Sunday to Pentecost. It is characterized, above all, by the joy of glorified life and the victory over death, expressed most fully in the great resounding cry of the Christian: Alleluia! All faith flows from faith in the resurrection:"If Christ has not been raised, then empty is our preaching; empty, too, is your faith." (1 Cor 15:14)

"What you sow is not brought to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel of wheat, perhaps, or of some other kind; So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown corruptible; it is raised incorruptible. It is sown dishonorable; it is raised glorious. It is sown weak; it is raised powerful. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual one. So, too, it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living being," the last Adam a life-giving spirit. But the spiritual was not first; rather the natural and then the spiritual. The first man was from the earth, earthly; the second man, from heaven. As was the earthly one, so also are the earthly, and as is the heavenly one, so also are the heavenly. Just as we have borne the image of the earthly one, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly one (1 Cor 15:36-37, 42-49).

PROCLAIM THE RISEN CHRIST On Easter morning everything—the spring weather, the flowers, birds and butterflies, the people around us in their finery, the beautiful liturgy and music—everything seems to bear witness that Jesus Christ is risen today! Like the eyewitness accounts in today’s scriptures, the glorious and joyful life all around us helps us to believe the good news of the Resurrection and sing “Alleluia!” In the scriptures today we hear from Peter and Paul and John. All three speak with conviction about witnessing the resurrected Christ. John’s Gospel account includes Mary of Magdala, who also was privileged to witness the Resurrection and tell others the good news. On this glorious Easter Sunday can we ourselves give eyewitness accounts that Jesus Christ is risen today, alive and active in our lives? Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
