13th Sunday of Ordinary Time ~ July 1st, 2018
Dear Friends in Christ,
The Gospel stories today reveal to us some-thing about faith: which is seen and unseen. In the first story, Jairus, saw Jesus and plead-ed to the Lord to save his daughter. Jesus, of course, was going to do this. This is faith
seen. On the way, a woman who had suffered from hemor-rhages had seen Jesus but did not ask him anything. Instead, she touched the Lord’s clothes, thereby knowing faith and was cured. In fact, Jesus even told her: “Daughter, your faith has saved you…” This is what saves us—it is our faith, pure, una-dultered faith in Christ that brings us from the point of despera-tion into full life. It is this faith in Jesus that cures us and makes us whole. That is why we trust in the Lord so much. In our Responsorial Psalm today we prayed: “I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.” No truer words spoken.
This past week, we welcomed a new little member into the Church. Leland John Phillip Korenich, infant son of Joshua and Courtney Korenich was welcomed into the Church through the sacrament of baptism. Let us pray for little Leland as he begins his faith journey united in the Lord.
We note with sadness, the death of Mrs. Mary Margaret (“Marnie”) Strom who died in the Lord on June 16, 2018. A memorial Mass for Marnie will be celebrated here at St. Fran-cis de Sales on Friday, July 6, 2018. Marnie is survived by her husband, John, daughters Katie and Mary, and her siblings Daniel Faketty, Kathy White, Colleen Faketty, Leah (Bob) Skoglund, Sarah (Jack) Schuetter, and step-mother Patty Peck-Faketty as well as other family members. Let us pray for her and the family: Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let
perpetual light shine upon her…Amen.
We are presently awaiting approval for our roof project here at St. Francis de Sales and we have also begun the process for replacing the roof at Divine Infant of Prague. Both of these projects are sorely needed and we now have the funding to carry them out. So, hopefully the work will begin soon.
That’s it for now. Our story continues. Pray for me as I pray for you! Remember: Smile! God loves you and so do I! Choose life!

HELP JESUS GET TO THE SICK LITTLE GIRL
Sharing the Gospel In today's Gospel reading, Jairus asked Jesus to come to his house. The daughter of Jairus was dying, and he knew Jesus could make her well again. While they were walking to his house, she died. Did Jesus give up? No way! Jesus told Jairus not to be afraid, but to keep believing that Jesus could help her. Jesus was even stronger than death. He walked into the house, held her hand, and told her to get up. Jesus ad-mired the faith Jairus had.

What a GREAT week at
